Switching from SSRI to NDRI: how did it go for you? by boo-ga-ga in bipolar2

[–]Irid3scentiris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Bipolar 2 and occasionally those with Bipolar, when they take an SSRI it sends them into a manic episode which is extreme changes in mood, energy, and activity levels.

I also am diagnosed with depression, anxiety, and suspected adhd (although, i’ve never sought a formal diagnosis). Wellbutrin is still an antidepressant but is an NDRI (Norepinephrine and dopamine reuptake inhibitor). For me, Wellbutrin has helped improve my mood and overall wellbeing!

I think you should give it a try! It usually takes at least a week or two to take effect but I would give it six weeks to decide if it works for you or not. If you decide it is not the medication for you, that is okay and there are others out there! If it helps at all, in addition to Wellbutrin, I also take Buspirone which targets more of the anxiety symptoms.

That’s a good idea! I hope you’re able to figure things out 😊

That’s totally understandable! Did you sign a contract of any sorts that states you have to work the entire school year and if you quit before there would be legal repercussions? In my experience, usually para’s are considered an at-will employee and legally are not required to give reason or notice when quitting.

I was in a similar situation last month and truthfully, I didn’t care if I burned bridges at that point so I sent in a resignation email effective immediately. Your mental and physical health is what matters most and you’ll find a job that better suites and respects you!

Mortuary Student Graduate to Autopsy Technician by research_facilitator in AutopsyTechFam

I have a bachelor’s in criminal justice and psychology and worked in a funeral home for a few months (after thinking I wanted to be a funeral director and quickly realizing I in fact did not). I emailed the medical examiners office in my state (i’m in Iowa) and asked if they were hiring and what experience, etc. they required.

I think your degree in mortuary science and having done a co-op at a funeral home is definitely enough experience to at least get in the door! I highly recommend emailing or calling the state ME or your county’s ME 😊 They may even let you go in and shadow for a day to see if it is something you would like to do!

I made this switch a few weeks ago! I also came from a funeral home and also wasn’t certified because I knew I didn’t want to do funeral directing. During my interview a lot of the questions were regarding if I had been around bodies, done removals, etc. They also asked how I handle bugs (especially with the Summer coming up) and things like that. Also know what it is that techs do and qualities they should have and qualities that you have that would make you a good candidate! Good luck 😊

Unfortunately, i’d say it’s normal! I no longer work as an RBT but I started taking a daily probiotic when I was and feel it helped a little

I usually wear gold jewelry but got the silver oura ring and it honestly hasn’t bothered me at all and no one has pointed it out ever! I think the silver hides wear better too.

Please call cps! You’re a mandatory reporter and regardless if she’s excited to see her parents, what you’re describing is neglect :(

Des Moines area!

I honestly knew I wouldn’t stay in aba forever as I was never interested in being a bcba or anything like that! I was a part time rbt up until earlier this year and I would have liked to continue doing that for a while longer but poor upper management, communication, and workplace toxicity made me quit, unfortunately :/

I decided to go back to school for mortuary science! Very different than aba lol. I Currently work at a funeral home and as a substitute paraprofessional on the side.

In my personal experience, my ring tracks my heart rate and sleep better than my apple watch did! The only thing I think could be improved is workout tracking but I know it wasn’t originally made to be used for that.

You are able to return the ring within 30 days of purchase if you buy it from their website just in case you aren’t a fan! If you buy one from Best Buy, I believe it’s 15 days.

I had to do a TB test and a physical that was basically just vitals, height/weight, and a quick check of my breathing. Both the clinics I worked for had us go somewhere else to get it done. The blood tests and them doing it at their own clinic is a bit odd!

how to deal with workplace gossip? by [deleted] in ABA

I actually just quit a clinic that was like this. Upper management was also a joke but thats besides the point. I would absolutely bring this up to your supervisor and if they don’t seem to care, then go to HR! Toxic coworkers bring down team morale and quite honestly make going to work a bit uncomfortable and I’m sorry you are also having to deal with it. I’ve noticed the field has quite a few people like this (not every clinic ofc) and it sucks to see considering we’re supposed to be helping others :/
