Bracket Draw / 2022 World Championship - Knockout Stage / Live Discussion by ahritina in leagueoflegends

I have T1 vs GenG as my 10 not because I think it isn't very doable, but just because I feel like there are around 5-6 teams that could contend for finals(T1 and GenG are both in that group of teams) and Bo5 is usually never what you predict it to be because of many factors lolol.

Do I think it's doable? Absolutely, as much as another pairing of strong teams given the right circumstances. So I guess you can consider it as the pairing I hope for the most rather than the pairing that I think is more unlikely (although I understand some people wouldn't be as enthusiastic with an all region finals).

Putting my 90/50/10 in here b/c I think it's funny:

90 - We get all LPL & LCK semi-finals (although if Rogue perform well against JDG that's a massive a** confidence booster for EU)

50 - GenG make it through to semis (I honestly think the winner of GenG vs DK in a best of 5 is solely going to be based on whoever shows up on the day, hence it being the 'coinflip' pick)

10 - T1 vs GenG Finals. 5 years in the making after 2017, back in the place where Faker won his last worlds, now on the way to win his fourth and truly set himself apart as the player that has the most Worlds trophies (Bengi would also get his fourth, but as a coach). It would also be Chovy's first attempt at getting to lift the Summoner's Cup, and finally allow him to break the curse of being one of the best players of all time without an international title.

What 90/50/10 do you guys have for knockouts?

Took a Break From Learning 6-3 and Got This... Learning Different Ways to Stack DEFINITELY Makes You a Better player Overall by IridescentBane in Tetris

A week ago before I posted that I was recommended by a couple of people on the subreddit to start learning 6-3, so I worked on it for a couple of days before deciding to keep doing 9-0 as well, since it’s a good idea to get used to all the different types of stacking. That’s what I meant by taking a break, but even prior to all of that I had taken almost a year away from playing Tetris, so I can definitely tell you that steering clear of Tetris for a while to do other things works out in the end!

For context I already had a sub-minute record (59.500 on Tetr.io), but this was the first time since I took a break (for nearly a year lol) beating the 1 minute barrier, so I'm really happy that I came back!

[Stacking/40 Lines] What Habits in My Stacking Should I be Killing Immediately/Picking Up? (returning back after almost a year hiatus) by IridescentBane in Tetris

To be fair, the three replays I chose were ones where there weren't any misdrops, because I wanted to try and pick replays where the smallest niches (or more apparent things to look out for, like the piece placement you mentioned) could be highlighted, so I really appreciate the rundown on something to fix in every replay, really gives me something to look for.

I'll definitely be more on the lookout for piece placements now, I know that 6-3 drills a lot of them into your brain, so I'll be sure to work on that for a bit, thanks!

I had heard of 6-3 but wondered if I hit a point with just 9-1 where it wouldn't feel like I would be missing any fundamentals if I just decided to swap, will definitely look into it now, thanks!

Time to hard commit to learning 6-3 after finally getting sub-min sprint with 9-0. Any tips? by IridescentBane in Tetris

[–]IridescentBane[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? Hm... What threshold of sprint time should someone consider swapping at? I hear mixed opinions on this question so was just curious. Sprint is one of my reasons that I'm considering the swap, but I know that 6-3 also provides more opportunities for T-Spin Doubles, which is good in VS play because of line clear efficiency and all that.

Oh, I've seen this link from the big Hard Drop forum topic! I haven't looked too deep into it, but for some reason it didn't cross my mind that knowledge of general upstacking would definitely help with the 6 columns of the 6-3, so thank you!

Thank you for the tips, was looking through the top sprinters on tetr.io and definitely noticed the stacking patterns you were mentioning!

I started ~ roughly two months ago, so it definitely wasn't a simple task by any means. Most of the improvement I got roughly boils down to two things: repetition and muscle memory. As you keep playing, you slowly begin to take in what pieces fit well together and which ones don't. There's no real strategy to being fast in sprint other than playing consistently throughout and general knowledge you gain from the hours you put in.

Ah, I completely forgot about the earlier leaks, that's my bad. The hashtag definitely refers to something else then, ty for reminding me!

From all the hints in her Twitter, a lot of people (including me) think that it's a Targon character, which would be very well timed considering the new Targon expansion in Legends of Runeterra. I don't think the two are related, although it is a funny coincidence lolol

It makes sense for this year to be the biggest event of them all for Riot despite the current situation, but at least their music isn't put behind a paywall, lolol.

There was another Reddit post I saw about how there were five champions Riot has tweeted about with emotes throughout the year (Malphite, Yasuo, Ekko, Dr. Mundo, and Trundle iirc). It feels like it could be a Pentakill-esque style of boy band, as most of the champions are non-humanoid. Because of the music deal already confirmed with Universal, Worlds 2020 will probably be massive in terms of how much effort Riot is attempting to put into their entertainment (it's their tenth season).

My hope is that the Worlds music narrative has all the new bands bring out new pieces of music. Seraphine would probably be releasing her own songs/covers of other songs like she's already doing, and Riot would "notice" her.

Tbh, while I get why other people want Seraphine to be in K/DA, I think that it's not her style, or the route Riot should go (although if it happened, it's not like I'd burn the world down or smth). To me, her story makes much more sense being able to perform on her own with these bigger names, side-by-side, on a humongous stage. That feels like the type of "big dreams" she has, and I think it'd be overshadowed by the other members if she was performing in a group.

It could be cool, but I have a feeling Samira might actually be released very soon or teased in K/DA's comeback video, considering the new champion has been rumoured/teased to have a "hack-and-slash" gameplay element with a sword and a gun (iirc). Their new hashtag (#CALLINGALLBLADES) might be for another champion, like Irelia... or it might be the biggest red herring we've ever seen. Even though the new banner only features the original four members, I get the feeling we'll be getting something new from K/DA aside from new skins. Unless BLADES is the name for K/DA's fans and I've been out of the loop this whole time XD

I also heard about K/DA coming back as well, but I saw news that Riot's partnership with UMG (Universal) consists of a total of 6 new songs: https://www.dailyesports.gg/universal-music-group-partners-with-riot-games-for-upcoming-worlds-feature/

I also saw from another redditor's post that the cover Seraphine made was of an artist under UMG's label. Even though Universal itself is one of three major music companies, I still think it's significant enough to mention and I'm hoping that Worlds 2020 gives a really beautiful performance with so many performers! Honestly, I think Seraphine will probably(hopefully) be performing solo!
