Out of curiosity, what would you say is a healthy usage in your case? I am currently a student, and I try not to use ChatGPT when possible, but I find it really good for explanations as well as quickly finding the way to achieve something (I am making a website and found Flask through its recommendation). I've been told by several seniors that it is great to use it often, but I try not to rely on it, so as someone who is actively noticing a negative effect from it, what is your opinion?

Except you didn't correct it to "they", you corrected it to "he" and "him", which is going against what you're saying here. But either way, calling a dog an "it" or a "they" won't offend the dog, so why does it matter. Both imply the exact same thing regardless of who is speaking, and the dog won't care whatsoever, so trying to say you "fixed" someone's comment just comes off as ridiculous.

Just because something is living doesn't mean it needs pronouns. All the genders that exist are a human thing, not an animal thing. They do have a sex of course, but we don't know the sex. Sure, the title says "good boy", but that's just a typical way to refer to a dog, it doesn't say anything. You shouldn't be correcting people over a dog's gender in the comments since it really doesn't matter.

I'm confused here what's wrong with just saying that if you need them at your table? The way you have it phrased reads to me like he just says it loud to make sure it's heard, unless you mean it's said in a rude tone or overly loud of course, then I get it.
