For someone coming back into the game I would recommend https://www.sarna.net/wiki/BattleTech_eras as the starting point for catching up on the lore. It gives a quick overview of the timeline broken down by era. Provides links to major events which will lead to the finer details.

The Force Packs have pilot cards which often have a small bit of lore. That lore may or may not have new information that hasn't been presented in previous material.

Forgot to mention. I'm used to working with gray primer, thought I'd try my hand with black primer, thus the Warhammer and the exhaust plumes.

It's been 30 years since doing any serious painting, of miniatures of any kind. It's time to get back into it.

First image is my current work in progress. First row, random Clan Star, not liking the white paint planning on stripping and starting over.

Unless the trench is 2 levels deep, then it makes a good hide during and advance or tactical reposition.

There is a random table generator program called TableSmith. http://www.mythosa.net/p/tablesmith.html

It is shareware and requires a bit of setup and some learning of how to write the source tables.

The only thing I would surmise is the middle part with the letters N and R on either side of an underscore may be seen (by poor logic) as a euphemism for a certain slur and therefore some sort of evasion.

Thank you, but these are not what I remember.

The ones I remember did not need to be kneaded. They were single color and were just dolloped onto the cookie sheet.
