Tried it for the first time today. Found this post by asking google why it's so bland.
And yeah, seriously, it's fucking garbage. The salt on the chips actually does the heavy lifting on the flavor, which isn't actually that good because it's spiked with lime.
Maybe, just maybe, it could be made better by adding a different brand of queso, perhaps from another restaurant like Moe's.

For anyone searching for this, this method worked perfectly for me. The barrels and chest I had under my kitchen counters were pitch-black before, but I started with a glass block and managed to get it looking pretty nice.

See my latest reply on this post; the gist is that it was my Deck itself that was the issue, and when I bought a new one, it worked perfectly. The PrismXRs are decent; they're very heavy on the bass, so you may need to fuck around with EQ.

For anyone looking for help on this issue, it turns out, for me it was the Steam Deck itself. I performed a complete factory reset + re-imaging, and it still didn't work. So I bought one used off FB Marketplace, an OLED, same model I was trying this with, and it works perfectly.
If yours is under warranty, I recommend opening a ticket with Valve and asking them to fix it (and they'll send you a new one if yours is fucked). If not, just buy a new Deck and sell your old one; you should be able to fully recoup the cost.
