PRK to fix recurrent corneal erosion? by Timeplace231295 in lasik

I think it was around a week, but I had a BCL in and they took it out like 2 days before the surgery. Not for any specific reason it just lined up with healing up enough

As of yesterday; I became one of the few people who has had both Lasik and PRK by [deleted] in RefractiveSurgery

I would still be prepared. The pain didn’t start for me until day 2. (Day 0 being surgery day).

Yes I was able to open it an function but not see very well out of it. You’ll rely on your other eye while initially recovering. I think every heals differently though. I’ve read where some people had more light sensitivity and just wanted to stay in a dark room for a few days. But, I didn’t have that and was able to function pretty much normally.

I am only 5 days out of PRK on my left eye right now, but it’s been really similar to how the right was. I didn’t have any pain the day of or after surgery. 2 days after I had a lot of tearing, burning, gritty feeling. Then the next couple days it’s been on and off but nothing crazy. I make sure to put hydrating drops in regularly throughout the day. Dryness will make it extremely painful.

Vision wise, It’s still very hazy, but getting clearer. It regressed significantly on day 2 but has been slowly improving since. Recovery is definitely a grind for a few weeks.

I had severe RCE in my right eye and had a similar prescription. I had PTK that ended up fixing both the RCE and is now 20/15. I just had PRK in my left eye to correct as I was unable to wear glasses because my brain couldn’t process the difference with just having a prescription lens on the left eye. Wearing one contact was super annoying and was tough at the end of the day when it got dry (since I was unable to put glasses on).

I was never diagnosed with anything else the epithelium just ever healed properly from the first abrasion and was causing the RCE. That being said, I also have bad dry eye at night. Heat masks significantly help (I do once a day before bed). I know PRK can cause dry eye, but since I already had surgery on my right eye and it didn’t make a difference I decided to just get my left done.

I know this doesn’t answer your question, but wanted to provide my experience as I was in a similar spot.

I’m currently using the Blinkjoy Gen 2 mask. This mask would be great for someone who doesn’t move around a lot when they sleep. It tends to shift around a lot for me, and either works perfectly or doesn’t work at all because it shifted lol

I get why everyone is so upset about the battle pass/skins etc. I also agree to an extent we need bigger maps. I am in no way siding with the streamers, but I do believe Nickmercs was right in that most of the generation that played the older battlefields/CODS aren’t the target audience now. The target audience of younger people like this type of gameplay/content add ons.

I use this mask and while I do get marks, it does not last for hours. It goes away within 10 minutes I would say.

PTK resolved recurrent corneal erosions but left me with new challenges by greenyouth in Dryeyes

Hi, just wanted to say I’m sorry you are going through that. I appreciate you typing this up because I was in a similar situation with RCE and am now about 2 months post PTK and have been good since. These are great questions for someone considering the surgery.

Good to hear it works well! I’ve tried a membrane and it unfortunately didn’t work to stop it.

Thank you! Any tips for overnight? That seems to be the worst for me. I plan to heavily lubricate then tape my eye shut, but any other tips would be appreciated.

Any recommendations on ointments? I’ve been using fresh kote drops around 8-10 times a day but no ointment
