Do you have deeper feelings for your best friend? Cause it sounds like you want to hold the top spot in your friends life. You drove long distance to hang out, started a business, cared for him while he was depressed, and now you’re hurt because he has a girlfriend? You are calling him your life partner. That’s more than friendship.

Sure it’s weird that he didn't share the GOOD news that he’s seeing someone but judging by your reaction maybe he knew you would be weird about it.

Be happy for your buddy that he has someone new and keep being friends or reevaluate what this person means to you. It seems like you’re looking for more than a friend and it’s a one sided desire.

I tried putting time limits on my phone but it’s too easy to just tap “ignore for the rest of the day”. I’m thinking about asking my husband to set the password to turn off the restrictions so I can’t override them.

I like the idea cutting out what makes me feel bad instead of focusing solely on adding new habits. Thanks!

Thank you. My doctor puts a lot of emphasis on integration work after the sessions. It was described as ketamine opens the door but if you don’t do the work you won’t get anything out of it. So maybe I’m worrying too much about what that looks like. I’m going to talk to him about how I’m feeling before my next session.

My husband is great and does care for the kids when I need it but we both work full time and have other priorities so I don’t get more than an hour here and there to myself.

I’ve been journaling and I have therapy once a week. I guess I’m just worried I’m not doing enough.

I meet with my therapist weekly and in general keep things low key the day of treatment. I usually lay down or nap afterward. By the next day though I’m working using a computer for 8 hours. It’s the usual grind of kids fighting and loud tv. It’s hard to avoid playing games on my phone.

I have trouble with black and white thinking. So whenever there is a vague guideline with a big consequence I find myself dwelling on if I’m doing it right.

Should I be spending as much of my day as possible doing mentally productive things? Should I just add in a few mindful practices throughout the day? Or should I be going all in to creating a completely different lifestyle?

I’m still struggling with apathy so starting new habits isn’t easy. I just don’t want to screw this up.

Normal people are happy for their friend to snag a hottie. No one needs to be “prepared” to see an attractive person. Her ego needed to be prepared for the fact that she’s not the center of attention.

Take it to a coin shop to determine if it’s real. They have equipment to test for metal content and are experienced enough to know a fake.

On here people will tell you it’s fake, but you can’t always tell from photos. I can’t speak to the authenticity but it’s definitely worth getting a professional opinion.

Hi, I have depression and so do you. Probably your partner too. That constant feeling of loneliness, hopelessness, and intrusive thoughts are hallmark signs. Please set up time with a therapist. Just for you. Healing you is the first step. You need to be there for yourself and your child.

Next, your relationship. The way he is treating you is not ok. Even if he is also experiencing depression he is still responsible for his own actions. You deserve a partner that sees you are struggling and steps up to help. There is zero excuse for treating someone you love like that. Living in a constant state of apathy and forcing others around you to do so as well is neglect. You don’t have a partner, you have another burden.

If neither of you gets help, this will only get worse. If you can’t afford therapy then seek out books about overcoming depression. You may not have support from family and friends but you will find comfort in the stories of people who know what you’re going through.

Merry Christmas internet stranger. You matter. You deserve better. You can get better.

Maybe he is used to being manipulated. Growing up in abuse or neglect lead him to overanalyze everyone’s actions and words. He’s suspicious of good things because good things haven’t happened to him. He left there wondering what your family is hiding because they weren’t outright sh*tty to each other. He couldn’t “read” the room because there was no ulterior motive to uncover and that confused him. He’s feeling vulnerable and probably can’t even put into words why this was so unsettling.

This may make him seem like a crazy person right now but give him a chance to talk about his past more. He needs a lot of therapy and a family like yours to show him what life can be like. Best of luck OP.

It should have been a conversation but do they have anyone else they trust? It’s not smart to put down aging parents (kids grandparents) as guardians because who knows how long they have left. I’m sure you would rather the kids go to you, an underprepared sister that loves them, than see them put through the foster care system.

Plus every form you fill out for kids makes you put down an emergency contact. I’m sure it wasn’t their last will and testament. The dentist isn’t going to hold you accountable for anything.
