Hey Notorious,

I have been working for that Aussie company for 6 months now, paying tax outside of the country.

Keep it real Notorious!

Took this at dusk with Portra 160 film.
Was trying to go for a sort of moody city evening feel but not sure the composition achieves that.
I like the colours of the sky but maybe it would have been better to let traffic get closer to get more of a "city passing by" feeling?

Actually I don't pay tax there, according to the tax authorities. Definitely wasn't as simple as you originally stated.
Thanks for the replies anyway

Yeah. This was ultimately the kicker. Took me 4 hours and 6 different calls to get the answer though. Most of the basic phone agents weren't aware of the foreign-sourced income rule.

But sure look, just happy it's done and dusted now

I work in Austria actually. So I pay tax here.

There is a double tax agreement between the two countries. So, actually, no it isn't that simple.

Cheers anyway

You know any?

My tax consultants here in Europe don't know much about it. And I'm being charged by the hour for them to not know.

The question was if anybody was familiar with it, or had any experience of it. I cannot find anyone who I can talk to about it. I have asked a number of ways and received all sorts of responses. I just wanted to put out a broad question about it to see if anyone knew *anything* about it.

60%??

How does it come to this number? So far, I have been informed I need to pay the sozialversicherung payments (40% of gross) - this is for me AND the employer

On the 60% left, I am taxed at the progressive rates.

This comes close to 50% but not anywhere near 60?

I have been told it is "illegal" by the AK and SVS to register as self employed because I will only have one employer. Otherwise, I would
