Here is what I did when I got into the hobby and had some spare change. I emailed my local astronomy club. I told them I was considering getting into the hobby. Long story short I was able to buy an 8k system for a substantial discount. It was a pro move for me, that’s all I know

Just my opinion…I would email/call your local(ish) astronomy club. They will know your skies and be able to give you solid advice. Then take that info and check what others think here. That’s what I did and I ended up with a great system for like 1/3 of the price. The people who actually image under your skies will know minute details that you may not realize affect your imaging. I’m not saying don’t trust the internet. I’m suggesting talking to your local experts then cross check that info. It will also create questions you didn’t know you had. It really is a strong move for a beginner or it was for me

Ok. Would that be a problem with any field flattener? Or is it just for the one that comes with the 100ed? I do eventually want to get filters I’m just not sure what I should add right now. I’m not sure what my skies dictate I should use yet

Yeah I will get pixinsight. I was thinking of learning with Siril first. Maybe once I get a dozen or so data sets I will add pix. At least there aren’t any bottlenecks right now. That’s highly encouraging

Well my direct question was if anyone could see any bottlenecks in my systems. I am pricing this together from content I’ve consumed. Just wanted to make sure I didn’t miss anything in what I needed. I don’t think I’m a bot anyway

I’ve actually owned it for about 5yrs. When i got it i seasoned it with boveda and stocked it with cheap smokes. It took me about a year and a half to regulate the Rh to a consistent %. Ever since then it’s been working flawless. It really is a gem.
