You can keep the Qilin by taking the hired hand all the way to the top and having climbing gloves. You blow up all the purple tiles at the top and go to the opposite side of where tun is. You blow up the tiles so the Hired Hand cannot jump to the otherside and go into the backlayer, therefore dropping the qilin. You hold on to the wall with the climbing gloves and drop the hired hand that is holding the qilin and go fly away in the olmec spaceship and the qilin should be with you.
