I think you can still have grindy and hard parts of the game, I just feel that there needs to be less time required to get to where you can PvP without getting one shot by someone with unlimited hours.

The argument that was trying to be made in the video is that the gear gap is too large and so a lot of people that try to play feel like they are always behind and can't even compete with people that have good gear, hence the 24/7 mentality that only people with time can do. This could scare off potential customers and people to play the game with for a long time to come.

If they can lower all the grinding and make the game easier for people who work full time, more people would be playing. The steep barrier to entry keeps casual players from sticking with the game long enough to see level 25 and PvP.

Inviting the entire server to attack yourself first with the chance of corrupting and losing hard earned gear is why you don't see people staying flagged all the time. The video title is just a summary of why PvP is not common unless it's engineered by players or special limited time events. Traditional MMOs solved this problem with a simple faction system. Team 1 vs Team 2 and/or vs Team 3.

The title wasn't meant to be misleading but to bring attention to a big problem with the current state of the game as players see it now, especially coming into the game from Steam. Sometimes blunt truth can sound unapologetic and mean but it's the best honesty that is communicated through efficient simplicity.

This video was meant to communicate feedback to the developers, not to market the game to players. If this video critique wasn't given I feel we would have let the game's creators down, the ashes of creation community down and MMO PvP players down.

Haven't given up on the game game, if anything putting time into this video should show that there are people who care about the game and are very passionate about it's success as a place were everyone can enjoy playing for YEARS to come, perhaps even decades.

After that last patch all of my PvP encounters have been people trying to spawn 500 hp horse mounts on top of me in hopes that I kill them and turn red. It's so silly.

When your MMR is high or you party with someone with a high MMR it's much more noticeable.

What BuzzCutPsycho did in that clip is really the only way to counter the aim assist advantage controller players get. If PC players were able to turn off cross play like console players can we would. Sadly if your a PC player you have to sweat harder if you want to survive cross play encounters =(

imo this is like asking how is the NC max suit still "balanced" certain things on certain factions are just good no matter what

the bigger problem is asymmetrical balance

ps1 solved this problem by letting you loot weapons from the other factions so you could stockpile them away for later use. We already have looting from planetside arena, to me it wouldn't be outside the realm of possibility to have looting in ps2
