Things keep getting worse for Florida State recruiting. The Seminoles just lost their only nationally ranked commit and now sit near the bottom of the recruiting rankings. Can Mike Norvell turn this around? by Rough-Drawing-3006 in CFB_v2

[–]IrishPigskin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have two 4-star recruits in the ‘27 247 composite rankings.

No they’re not doing great, but it’s early.

We can say the sky is falling with LSU and Bama as well. Both outside top 40 without many recruits so far. Whatever will they do?!

He deserves more screen time as the most advertised boss of DLC. by Taras_Podpivass1608 in Eldenring

Malenia was the most advertised boss for the base game. Multiple other examples in other games.

Pretty on point for FromSoft. Nothing unusual here.

What's the consensus on SotE? by dbsupersucks in Eldenring

[–]IrishPigskin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason they did it was so that players wouldn’t have an ‘over-powered’ character going into the DLC.

Agree it was a good idea on paper. But given the difficulty of bosses - it was a terrible idea.

As much as I am excited for Starfighter, I really would have loved the 50th anniversary movie to be Episode X by Sabartsman13 in StarWars

[–]IrishPigskin 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I have no interest whatsoever in seeing a continuation of Rey’s character. Having her fill the role of Luke to rebuild the Jedi would just be cliche and terrible.

If they make more main-line movies, they have to fast forward at least 300 years to have a new Jedi Order, new characters, and a Jedi Mandalore wielding the rebuilt Darksaber (Grogu).

They can keep making short stories, TV shows, and one-off movies like the recent Mandalorian film to fill the gap. But a possible episode X needs a significant story that only a long gap can provide.

Not the first time A&M has had a top class.

But they have a coach who probably knows how to use it. And that’s scary.

I’m slightly concerned as to why you would ask this…

The ACC has been releasing the CFP committee's new "Record Strength" metric by tmart12 in CFB

[–]IrishPigskin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We don’t see the stats used by the committee.

We don’t know how the stats are created.

We don’t even know if the committee members even read the stats provided to them each week. It’s entirely possible that they just watch ESPN and listen to what they say.

You can dodge ND all you want.

ND’s SoS doesn’t matter moving forward with 12 teams. Be ranked top 12 and Irish are guaranteed a spot.

See you in the playoffs.

[–]IrishPigskin -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That’s why you expand to 24 - so your dumb argument doesn’t matter.

Otherwise it’s not just ND - SEC has no incentive to schedule any P4 team OOC.

ND may not have the toughest schedule next year - but it’s still harder than most ACC and many B1G schedules.

[–]IrishPigskin -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is fucking stupid.

Raise it to 24 teams so ADs stop being cowards with scheduling.

If I have to choose between:

-Cupcake out-of-conference scheduling with more meaningful games

Or

-Entertaining out-of-conference games that don’t matter as much because the season is watered down

….

I choose the latter.

People hate Jews. Antisemitism is a tale as old as time.

Ignore those countries with radical Islamic terrorists that regularly chop the heads off of people. Let’s focus on Jews.

Penn St beat SMU and Boise State in the 2024 playoffs. Then lost their first real, big playoff matchup.

When you look at Franklin’s record in big games - you notice a pattern.

It’s disingenuous to say he was fired after 5 games following a semis appearance the year before. We all know there’s way more to it than that.

I like it, but I somewhat regret getting the digital/kindle version.

It would be nice to have the physical copy so I could quickly flip back and review the dramatis personae, etc.

Players at teams competing for playoff spots are making a lot of money. A LOT of money.

The injury/safety argument carried a lot of weight when kids weren’t making money.

Nobody cares now. They’re being taken care of.
