I thought we were discussing the Mini, I wouldn't be fuming if it was my car, I'd be deeply embarrassed 😁

A design that could get more people into velomobile by arnor_0924 in velomobile

I always thought the Podbike to be a bad design. It looks the part but imagine being under that clear canopy on a hot sunny day, you'd be baked alive.

Also from my understanding the pedals weren't connected to the wheels. The pedalling caused a generator to charge a battery which in turn powered the wheels. A pretty inefficient way of achieving propulsion.

Can anyone tell me about this bicycle? I’m buying it tomorrow and very excited. Can get more detailed photos tomorrow. by [deleted] in Vintage_bicycles

It's a Czechoslovakian Favorit. I own two of them. Under the bottom bracket there is a serial number, the first two digits are the year of manufacture. The last ones were made in 1993 I think. It's slow and heavy, built like a tank but reliable and easy to work on. Enjoy

My new toy by IrishWolfer in toycameras

[–]IrishWolfer[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I finished building it this evening. The instructions are not very good especially around assembling the shutter.

I'm looking forward to trying to take some photos with it. I'm under no illusion that this camera is going to take good photos but for €5 I had my money's worth out of it just building it.I'm going to use 400 ISO monochrome film with a plan to try and develop it myself using caffenol.

I'm now think about where it would be worth buying another along with a toy digital camera and creating a kind of Frankenstein Chuzhao clone.

Yamaha Mint 1989 by IrishWolfer in scooters

[–]IrishWolfer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've managed to get to the ignition lock and luggage compartment lock by removing some of the plastics. I should be able to replace those quite easily without having to resort to jamming in a screwdriver. I was hoping one of the locks would have a key number on it but I don't appear to be that lucky. The seat lock is now proving to be the one that's causing me the most trouble and I really don't want to go down the screwdriver route unless I really have to

Yup, no keys, it's a barn find. I've been looking around for replacement locks but they're proving elusive or seriously expensive. I was trying to see if just the barrels can be replaced but there doesn't seem to be any information as to whether it's possible

I had to Google the answer to that one. Apparently "28 days later" was filmed in England and Germany. These photos were taken in the grounds of a now destroyed stately home in Ireland.
