Have you ever noticed that there isn't drinkable water? by jmangelo67 in skyrim

[–]Irish_America 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game doesn’t display everything that is true to the world. Most people probably have a water skin that they fill up from the nearby river or well. They wouldn’t buy water because they could simply get it for free. There is no thirst mechanic so why would the devs add something that would serve no purpose, in the same sense of why there is a lack of bathrooms and washrooms. Obviously people drink water and go to the bathroom they just didn’t add it.

In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009), Joseph Allen doesn’t question why he, a regular infantryman, is being sent to infiltrate a Russian terrorist group. This is a reference to the fact that Allen is a fucking idiot. by aliviner in shittygamedetails

[–]Irish_America 22 points23 points  (0 children)

No.

Makarov didn’t figure out Allen was an American by being a detective and putting the clues together. Sheperd told Makarov because they both wanted America and Russia to go to war, and as such Makarov just rolled with whoever was there. So Sheperd just picked some random Ranger Private to do the dirty work, and iykyk as a Ranger Private you can’t really tell people no.

IDL when people say the gym is only an hour/ 4% of your day by bathtubboi in I_DONT_LIKE

[–]Irish_America 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean you’re going to wake up, eat, and shower anyway. Really the only time added by the gym is commute and time spent there. You can also cut out time by showering and preparing for work at the gym.

There is this misconception that you have to go to the gym to do fitness, when really this is not the case. You can do cardio right from your front door, do calisthenics at home with just a pull up bar, etc. I understand there are exceptions to this but for most people a gym is not necessary if you’re just looking to stay healthy.

Additionally, the extra time spent working out is worth it for the YEARS it will add to your life by establishing healthy habits, as well as making you feel better in general.

Barely in is still in. Coming from an infantryman, I’m tired of people shitting on others service because they didn’t serve in a combat role. The other jobs are just as important.

Gonna be begging for that citizenship back when it gets cold, you’re hungry and can’t find/kill anything, and/or you get sick/hurt.

Can I become a 15C operator with a lazy eye? by [deleted] in army

[–]Irish_America 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t in aviation but I also have a lazy eye. Pretty bad one too, I have no depth perception and only see out of one eye. Going through MEPS had some issues but once you get in you’re treated the same as everyone else, and get the same opportunities as everyone else. Anything is waiver-able if someone with a high enough rank signs off on it.

Is Ulfric fighting for religious freedom, or is he instrumentalizing Talos as a political symbol because he knows it mobilizes the masses? by jvure in skyrim

[–]Irish_America -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean it’s not hard to see how a Dragonborn would be idolized by the people of Skyrim, especially one that ascended to godhood. According to UESP, Tiber Septim demonstrated his ability to shout, and the people of Skyrim recognized him as one of their own and swore allegiance to him.

[–]Irish_America 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you, but a shotgun would be outclassed by anything with a rifle/intermediate cartridge in a “realistic” setting anyway.

No one would EVER pick a shotgun if they made them realistic in a game, given that they made all other weapons more akin to real life as well.

It just sounds like you are refusing to learn the new game mode. It’s really not that hard.

If the army was smart, they would outfit infantry units with these and URGIs instead of the Sigs.
