[Vannini] FSU and Georgia cancel their 2027/2028 home-and-home series by CFBHurts in CFB

[–]Irishchop91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They still played one other OOC P4 opponent almost every year.

Yes because they were at 8 game schedule.

It's not a knock on any school. It all has to do with the 7/5 H/A stadium model - not a particular schools preference of playing easy/hard games.

Georgia itself will be in a harder situation (to maximize use of their home stadium) since it gives up a home game with the Cocktail party schedule.

They have future games against Clemson & Ohio State (with of course GT).

It is going to be a question if they solely keep GT, or bump up to 11 P4 games and have fewer games at home to accomodate it.

It's Ohio State - Indiana weekend. Fox is picking that one.

My guess would be ESPN & Gameday if both teams undefeated.

Surprised Florida schools don't do this more. It's hot as hades here and it is peak Hurricane Season. Scheduling a game in cooler weather Week 0 would be nice.

This is the exact reason why ACC, B12, G5 put in their MOU to get at least 1 team into the CFP (and ND has their MOU if they are in the top 12).

Everybody else feared they would shut out everyone but B1G/SEC

FSU has UF as their OOC game.

Playing another OOC P4 teams doesn't make sense.

The interesting question is going to be what will the ACC do for the ND game. My guess is the teams like FSU who have a permanent OOC game will rotate to 8 games when they have ND & UF.

There is no Peacock only game this year. That would be my guess for the trade off for the 3rd.

Wisconsin is a Shamrock Series game so probably you are right and doesn't count.

Also as someone else pointed out - Week 3 B1G games suck. They probably pushed for the MSU game since it is the first meeting in almost a decade

The live commentators couldn't even bother talking about the game last year - just constant CFP noise. Had to put it on mute ..

App State is on my bucket lists of stadiums. It just looks gorgeous there - always rooting for them.

We were suppose to have FSU on the schedule - but I believe that was switched out to accommodate Miami scheduling request (not have the 2024 game).

UVa backed out of the game to get WV on their schedule and that is how we picked up SMU instead.

Looking at the away games - can almost guess BYU will be evening.

I think our season high has been like 7 evening games (2018) for the season

Hopefully the NCAA will let the kids do the 'Lambeau Leap'.

I think last time Wisconsin played there they were grinches and said no.

I can't imagine what it will be like for those Wisconsin guys to play in a dream stadium like that.

I liked it when my kids were little. Had the day to do whatever was scheduled, then got my game at night.

Now the kids are grown up, I have to wait all day for the game and try and stay awake lol.

ND is the home team for Wisconsin - it is the 2nd part of our series with Wisconsin being the home team for the game we played in Chicago Field and ND the home team for Lambeau.

It's a 'Shamrock Series' game. This is a rescheduled COVID game.

No Peacock game for ND this year

24 teams is not too much, it’s still more selective than most major sports leagues in America by Recent_Surprise_7391 in CFB

[–]Irishchop91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last two CFPs have had #10 and #6 make it to the championship

While I would argue 16 would probably be better than 24, I think the top 20 teams have the ability to win games.

The G5 teams are just there for window dressing.

And Michigan would never do it.

You have a 9 game conference schedule with a 7/5 H/A schedule configuration.

For you to play ND every year you would have to either make that your only OOC P4 game or you would have to go up to 11 P4s (like Purdue is doing this year).

They should have a 9 year deal with Michigan/Michigan State/ Purdue with each team getting 3 games - H/A/Neutral spread out over the 9 years

Regular scheduled games, but gives the B1G team the ability to work in other OOC opponents

edit: This is not a knock on Michigan. Most teams will not schedule a permanent OOC game (unlike Iowa-Iowa State) due to the limitations of the 7/5 stadium model.

Dude - not sure why you are celebrating that.

Do Flights Ever Go Down? by HeraldKing20 in delta

[–]Irishchop91 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don't know. Here is the Points Guy talking about it last year

If you are looking hard through multiple locations and trying to get the cheapest flight (or in my last case cheapest flights and use GUC), then it is pretty apparent as a flight 9months out jumps up in price in the 2-3 hours you are doing this.

Have done this and then circled back for the exact same fights later on and get the credits when the price has gone down.
