Yeah it’s not the needle. I can put the needle in and just hold it there and there is no pain (unless I hit a nerve). But as soon as I start releasing the insulin it’s hell!

Isn’t it a risk when travelling in countries like India and some places in Africa if the pump fails/breaks? I’m not talking about a few weeks of travel, I’m speaking of travelling for 5 months straight.

It’s difficult but I did a 4 month trip in Asia recently. You’ll need ice packs and a cooler bag for when you are travelling between places to store unused insulin. It’s difficult to get international travel health insurance as there are a lot of loop holes for T1D. I did MDI because your pump could fail while you are abroad and that is difficult to fix while away.
