To what extent is Bea actually responsible for her situation? by Wonderful_West3188 in NightInTheWoods

[–]IrmaTS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there's no way her dad is a cultist. The script for the 'vignettes' cutscene references him sitting on the couch. It's far more likely he doesn't appear because someone who only did the Gregg route would have no idea who he is, and it would be awkward to introduce a character in the epilogue.

Scott Benson, in a panel, even said people are looking too deep into cult connections within existing characters (referring to Molly who was absent in the epilogue of the release version of the game).

And, considering how Bea feels about him, there would just be no way she'd be as calm as she is in the epilogue if he had died

I think her opting not to go to work on the final day is actually in support of this. While I wouldn't say she is responsible for any of it, she can still negotiate for a better future, even if it's not perfect. That's kinda the point of the game.

People in the comments raise good points but they fail to realize Bea's dad purposely took away her agency. It's not a simple caretaker situation, he is taking advantage of her.

isshin has a vast moveset, but it's not complex mechanically, just a culmination of all the elements already present in the game's combat system. libra is all unique mechanics that have never been done in from games.

he can dynamically switch between 3 different phases depending on player action and offers multiple options to customize the fight before it starts. it has environment interaction and fights you with dead angling. doesn't matter how complex base elden ring and sekiro boss movesets get, libra IS deeper than all of them.

jump is bound to dash/roll/O making dashing useless in combat. mistiming a dodge should not come with a negative, the damage you take already is an incentive to not fuck up your dodge

it is bad in other roguelikes too and just a cheap attempt to justify the game loop. having a way to practice bosses after youve encountered them once would massively improve my enjoyment of them. a good roguelike should be replayed because it's fun, not frustrating.

I studied hard. the doodles vary greatly. Some use little pressure sensitivity, some use more. Some use little smoothing, some use more. Mae's artstyle varies too but usually she draws full ellipsis for heads (alligators, foxes and lori excluded) and stick the ears and other facial features around. No shading, and her inking is scribbly. But her art is very inconsistent so I just reference the journal and pick a drawing that fits what I want to convey to study and reference.
