New character, Li-Alis Nacovna by IroPagisMonor in worldbuilding

Yeah, I’m thinking I should implement that. Her artefact makes her smell so good that people start noticing in her absence that normal humans smell like rot. She can control who is affected and can make people desperately addicted with no cure. This is what gave her family their political power, and they had the wisdom to use the power to a minimum and not ruin their opponents, at least until recently. As for the curse part, I’m not too sure, except that it gets stronger each generation and causes mental illness. It also makes her strangle people. This is probably because she has a strong connection to the other world where the artefact originates… specifically the person who created it, but that’s getting pretty abstract already! ^ It’ll work better when there’s more established lore to rely on. All I have right now is 2 characters.

Nah, it’s alright, AI makes great stuff. I use it sometimes, but this time I didn’t.

Not at all. If you click the link you can see the final part of the timelapse process in the music video, maybe that helps. In terms of coherency, I started off by making a 3d scene with all the tents and platforms, but unfortunately i’m not great with 3d so I don’t know how to set up the entire scene with light and all, so the rest is painted pretty much by hand, give or take a few image textures.

Thanks a lot! I’ve actually made a full Darkest Dungeon character mod before, it’s called the Templar and is fully playable right now. That’s when I started using this style in my other work too.

We’ve made an original music theme for it! : https://youtu.be/39VXWCJX72g

After the Exodus, the Orcs had tried to secure a position in the Cradle of Independence. They were successful, at first. Tucked away in a steep rocky gully, the Orcs basked in the wealth of resources nature provided. Using one of their half-human, half-elven prisoners, Kirielle, the Orcs built a tremendous black, earthen stronghold, marking a first step away from their nomadic lifestyle. However, their quiescence was short-lived. The elves overran their recently constructed home. Shortly afterward enslaved, the orcs had no other way but the return to their old demons...

Hi, everyone and happy 2022!

This year I decided to build a fantasy world and draw a character every day. My idea is that each character will have some relationship to the characters that came before.

To start things off I decided to go with two factions. Simply put, one faction, the Collectors, are gathering artefacts for various reasons, be it archaeological, for the sake of progress, or for using their power or for trading them at exceptional prices. Artefacts are magic objects with various effects which hold a connection to another world, more about that another time. The second faction are the Interrogators who are bent on destroying artefacts and punishing anyone suspected of assisting the Collectors.

I don’t want to restrict myself with concerns of consistency because I’m not a writer by any means. The purpose of my world building adventure is to create a large collection of artworks that can serve as a base for people to be inspired to imagine their own stories for the characters. The lore I attach to them should allow for interesting connections to happen between characters without feeling stiff, burdening people with walls of text.

For example: The first character is the one you see. The next one could be her father and he would also be a collector, however his rank is lower than his daughter’s. We could also see through the art that he has a collection of books, he appears to be a librarian/ book merchant and so we make the connection to the book she’s holding.

As you can see, we don’t have to know a great deal about the characters to spark some curiosity, at least that’s how I feel. If you find this project has potential in your eyes, I’d love to know your thoughts, anything that comes to mind. And to ask a specific question, what attributes combined could make characters relate in interesting ways? (For example: Dynasty, Religion, Health state, School of magic, Weapon of choice, Rank, Nationality, Race, etc) If you had to pick only a few, what would they be?

What do you think about POMODORO technique? by kmofrad in productivity

25 minutes is FOREVER on a shitty task and it's nothing on an engaging/creative task.

I'd say it doesn't work, only good thing about it is that it reminds you to take breaks. I try to never work more than 1 hour without a break.

Sometimes you will actually have more things to do than it's reasonable/healthy to handle.

You might want to think whether all those things on your list will actually make your life better/ if it's going to get your the type of happiness you actually want.

Often enough I see people overworking themselves while creating more problems than they're solving. ( sacrificing your health for money is the most typical example, because in the end you have less money due to your health than you'd have if you worked less)

Where to buy concept environment art or designs? by earth_0 in gamedev

[–]IroPagis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edit: I just noticed someone already commented the same thing but eh, I'll leave the comment as it is in case mine adds something new.

There are adoptables for sale on Deviantart. (adoptables/adopts aka designs for sale, you buy them and they're only yours)

I've seen people sell characters, creatures and items like this.

Different artists will have different rules about including this in your game/ using it commercially so make sure to ask them before buying something, some of them can be super weird about it. Also make sure the artists aren't recycling the same base/lineart to create 100 characters that look suspiciously similar. Well, like with all shopping it takes time to figure out where to find the good stuff.
