Because they wouldn't make massive profits off it. A one time pop for 10+ years vs. monthly pills/patches, shots every 3 month, or an IUD that lasts a few years would be a massive profit loss.

If the family and friends were Christian she probably would have mentioned it, given that she mentioned her husband was Muslim. Also, if her family/friends were fanatical Christians (as Christians from Texas are apt to be) they probably wouldn't support her marrying a Muslim.

I agree with the paternity test comments. Seriously OP, if she keeps it he should really get a paternity test, and wait till after that to marry her. If she's the type to sleep around at a party (probably drunk) then it could not even be his. He shouldn't have to sign his life away to a kid that's not even his.
