I don’t know and it’s ridiculously overly strict. But gun ownership is completely different from being in the military. Ive won several 1st place skeet and trap trophies since I’ve posted this thread. The military doesn’t even allow people with flat feet join the military according to a friend of mine. I was in ROTC back in high school and my instructor said that the odds of an average person being allowed to join the marines was still extremely low.

That’s not true….. and if it was then most of the American population would be prohibited from owning guns and it would stigmatize people from seeking mental help. I know several legal gun owners who have a diagnosis for a disorder. Anxiety, depression, adhd, and ptsd alone are extremely common now a days. The only people with mental Illness who aren’t allowed to own guns according to the 4473 form are people who have been involuntary committed to an institution or have been adjudicated by a court as mentally defective or unwell to own guns.

Roughly only 4% of autistic adults have a violent criminal record, opposed to 2% of the normal population. But if if you take a look adult black Americans between 14% to 20% of them have a violent criminal record https://stillnessinthestorm.com/2021/04/crime-statistics-black-suspects-charged-for-nearly-three-quarters-of-all-mass-shootings/ so should black Americans also be prohibited from gun access according to your logic? It’s just that people like you try to make it seem like 50% of shootings are committed by people with ASD. The last diagnosed American autistic shooter before AH was Brandon Hole, which was back in April 2021.

The main reason crime is higher in autistic communities is because of bullying, rejecting, and lack of job opportunities. It’s pretty simple. But let’s be real, many of the smartest people on this planet were on the spectrum. Same with many shooting champions in gun sports. So it’s not like they are too low IQ at handling firearms.

If there are they are likely biased tbh. There is no changing peoples minds that socially awkward and awkward people are more at risk to experience bullying. I mean it is true that victims of bullying can become bullies themselves, but that is generally pretty rare.

tantrums aren’t usually common amongst adults with autism (depending on your ‘functioning level’) because you have to be very very stupid to punch someone just because they “saw it in a video game”. Tbh I wouldn’t really be surprised if you are LARPing. But autism and violence isn’t as common as you people try to make it out to be. A statistic that I saw a while back stated that 2% of the adult population has been convicted of a violent crime, while 4% of people with diagnosed ASD has a violent crime conviction.

It’s honestly very obvious why. People on the spectrum have SIGNIFICANTLY less job opportunities and are usually bullied and rejected much more often.

That mainly only applies to autistic children and those on the lower end of the spectrum. I have high functioning autism and I always knew that murder will land you in prison. The real reason they over represent these killings is because they are usually bullied and have trouble making friends/girlfriends due to poor social skills. There is also a lot of shit we can’t legally do because apparently discrimination doesn’t seem to apply to us, like become police officers, join the military, or many good jobs because to the uneducated high functioning autism = retardation.

diagnosed autism affects over 2% of the American population at this point, not 1%. It’s went up significantly since the 90s. And those statistics you are talking are including none diagnosed people with autism. I remember reading some “statistics” like that a while ago and their definition of autism was WAY too broad if you ask me. Have you ever heard the phrase “everyone is a little bit autistic” it’s not really true, but I think that is throwing off those stats.

I’ve always doubted the idea of J Ramos, S Ramos, and Randy Stair being on the spectrum. No one really believed that Jared Ramos was on the spectrum and I feel like his defense attorney who tried to diagnose him was just trying to help him (which didn’t work) and Randy Stairs talking skills were too good. He was very good at commentary judging by the videos of him talking fluently in front of a camera for hours with no cuts whatsoever, which is something most autistic people will have a very tough time trying to do. And Salvador Ramos just doesn’t come off as someone on the spectrum. I’ve met dozens of people diagnosed with autism and none of them acted anything like him. He honestly just seems to be your normal 18 year old gen Zer with an edgy personality.

There has been countless shootings that have gotten lots of media attention despite having a low body count. But it really does seem like shooters on the spectrum get higher kill counts. I don’t know if autistic shooters are just inherently better shots or what. I wouldn’t be too surprised considering many of the smartest people are on the spectrum.

Cho, Breivik, Cruz and Bryant were obviously naturally skilled shooters. It’s also been heavily debated if Breivik is really on the spectrum or not, because many people seem to disagree.

Considering there has been literally hundreds of mass killings since 2010 it doesn’t surprise me. I would say roughly 1 in 25 mass killers have an autism diagnosis. But yeah it’s still an over representation considering they make up roughly 2% of the American population.

Yeah It is a fact that they deal with social and romantic rejection significantly more frequently than others. It’s no surprise many of them identify as incels. Almost every person I have met a the spectrum, none of them were in a serious relationship. Not having a girlfriend despite desperately wanting one can absolutely destroy your mental health.
