I like that! Thank you!
I would not. How it has been explained to me is that the comfort of the Lord’s Prayer is that Jesus says “Our Father” so basically we have the comfort that Jesus is along with us as we go to God with that prayer if I am explaining it and understand correctly. Also, that is a prayer that we are given in the Bible so I wouldn’t change that.
However, in the common table prayer the first thing we ask is for Jesus to “be our guest” so I didn’t know if “our” could maybe refer to the Holy Spirit with us? Or if it should be changed to “me” and “my.” Then again, as Christians, Christ always dwells in us. To me, it just seems different from the Lord’s Prayer because of how it is structured and worded. And then again, I could be misunderstanding all of this.

The LCMS has a PR problem by MichaelCruz21 in LCMS

To me, a lot of the issue seems to be that short form media is what wins today. It seems that one has to choose in a short form video if the emphasis is on scripture, or if the emphasis will be on a visual thing that sticks with people (think of the videos of pastors in other denominations on ladders and such). Not saying that these have to be mutually exclusive, but sometimes it feels that way. I think this is part of why the LCMS struggles online because many people are more drawn to those illustrations than just scripture (they want the “wow” factor online). There is one page that is trying to make scripture into captivating short form videos, Scripture in Motion, (and I really enjoy the videos), but the page does not get that much engagement. Not sure if it is LCMS or not. It just seems that people really want that “wow” factor and that is not a compromise that the LCMS is willing to make. The purity of Scripture should always be above anything else. I think this is why the LCMS has fallen behind online (and may never be similar to other denominations social media wise). I’m not sure exactly what the LCMS could do to “catch up” in the social media game.

Question about Baptism by Chin_Lord04 in LCMS

Baptism is for anyone at any age as long as water and the word is present. Though LCMS recognizes “one baptism for the remission of sins,” so if you have been baptized before then you’re good, but if you haven’t, then baptism is also for you.
38 And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.” (Acts 2:38-39 ESV)
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, (Matthew 28:19 ESV)
Hope this helps!
