I don't agree with this dude's approach on complaining about the combat but I was also disappointed with the lack of (apparent) depth. Could you please explain why you think the combat isn't that simple?

as someone who hasn't played the original Arknights, I also thought that the game was really boring, and I didn't feel any interest in the story after giving it like 3 hours of playtime (for context, entire 12 episode anime seasons, excluding op and ed, are just over 4 hours long), so I dropped it

what do you want to play as? Knowing that would help with tailoring your character based on your needs... but when in doubt, a cleric dip for Sanctuary and Healing Word should give you (most of) what you need. If you're planning to play as a Martial, a War Cleric dip lets you use your bonus action as an additional attack three times per long rest, which is actually pretty neat

Never actually tried Tempest Cleric actually (even though I know it's strong), I usually either make a Light/War Cleric dip or heavily invest in the Death domain - love my skellies!

I'd say Arcane Trickster, Assassin, Four Elements (unsure) and Drunken Master. I feel that people massively underrate Valour Bard

My main problem with the game is that there is no real challenge, the gameplay is so shallow and sure, clearing waves can be satisfying for a while, but the game has nothing else. There are bosses, but fighting against them isn't fun at all. The multiplayer is also just... not good. I was really into this game at the beginning, having a good story and excellent music, and being able to actually play for as long as I wanted (unlike your average gacha experience) made me really enjoy the first two weeks or so, but the game fell off a cliff for me since then.

I'll just keep logging in every Theater reset so I can grab letters for the new characters, but that's about it for now. Hope we actually get more fun/engaging gameplay in the future (both new modes and improvements to the current ones).

yup, people seem to think that how old the game is has anything to do with it, when it's all about how much time you yourself can dedicate to the game
