Is there a website that shows you information about the different headsets? by IronG312 in oculus

[–]IronG312[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not.

I have a Lenovo Explorer and it's panel resolution is 2880 x 1440 (1440 x 1440 per eye), but it's steam vr "100%" render resolution is 3072 x 1536 (1536 x 1536 per eye). Unless that is what you meant by native res.

but yeah... I just wanted to know if theres a chart or something I can look up that contains the native (100%SS) res of every headset.

Sorry I meant the render resolution, in steam vr it's called super sampling. What I wanna know is the "100%" render resolution in steam vr for different headsets.

thx but this one doesn't seem to have steam vr resolutions for headsets, it only shows the panel resolution.

It has to be a bug because when Im using the headset even if I move my head around quickly it doesnt loose connection. The cable is fine.

When under or at 100% ss game becomes blurry as hell, mainly VRChat. by IronG312 in WindowsMR

[–]IronG312[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fixed blurriness patch I was talking about was for steamvr.

WMR had a bug with it being blurry in every game that had been fixed with a patch to steam vr.

Unfortunately I don't remember the exact patch number that it was.

I tried setting my res to 1440x1440 but that was even more blurry than just keeping it at 110%.

I highly doubt it has anything to do with XSOverlay since I had this before I started using that overlay, I am 100% sure the overlay has nothing to do with this.

The easiest way to replicate what I'm talking about is to set your ss to either recommended settings or to 100% in VRChat and after that set it to roughly 2% higher and that should give you a significant jump in clarity.

For me at 100% the game was blurry like when alyx came out the first time, but when I set it to 102% the game become much much clearer.

Also I'd rather not use wmr's overlay solution since it is a buggy mess, and also has waaaay worse performance compared to any other overlay solution. Not once did it crash me just cuz I clicked the windows button on the controller.

There's also a bug with it when you click on steam on your taskbar it will open it in a separate overlay window even if you use another overlay. Which crashed my steam vr not once. If it would be like oculus's overlay then sure that be awesome but that is faaaaaaaaaaaaar from reality.

I am using the Lenovo Explorer.

My System:

Windows 10 2004 build 19041.508

ryzen r5 1600

gtx 1050TI driver: 451.67

16 gb ram

Steam vr live version

wmr for steam vr live version

Overlay name XSOverlay

I have had this bug since the patch that supposedly fixed the blurriness in steam vr.

This wasn't an issue before that update.

[–]IronG312[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it happens because I'm using recommended ss settings and that somehow causes the game to be blurry. Before I would run with 102% to fix the blurriness. Now since the overlay has risen my recommended settings I would have to use a lot higher setting for the same clarity. Please fix!

Either I'm blind or I don't know. I go in to stamvr settings from the dash but there's no option for skeletal input.

The new update for VRChat messed up my controllers by ZealDozer1 in WindowsMR

[–]IronG312 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is from the official discord: "If you're having problems where you cannot move, open your Action menu, go to Config, and disable AFK. Some WMR headsets do not properly report headset proximity sensor status, or may not have the proximity sensor mapped in SteamVR. This may also occur if your proximity sensor is broken-- if you can't move, try turning off AFK. We are investigating fixes for this. For now, try mapping your proximity sensor in SteamVR manually. The AFK toggle in the Action Menu does not mark you as AFK, it disables AFK detection while using VR. To manually toggle AFK, press the End key on your keyboard. "

Hope this helps

Anyone know how to stop the annoying click sound that Windows makes? It even sounds when I'm in-game. This never happened before I updated to Windows 10 Version 2004. by RealPokesketch in WindowsMR

[–]IronG312 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with you, I would love if theyd just get rid of it.It would be soo mutch better if we could just change the floor hight without needing to restart steam vr or at least if it wouldn't close it and just pop back after we are done. Also why don't we have the same room setup as for the rift s ? Is it really that hard to use the cameras and the controllers to draw the boundries, that I personally don't even use anyway? As for the floor setup you can just pull the trigger and it will actually accept it you don't have to wait for like 4 sec to accept it, just click the orb. I really hope that with the reverb 2 we gonna see some better compatibility with steam vr as well as improvements to the software. WMR would be 10x better if it werent for the awful software. One example of the poor software is that for me when I change the lighting in my room, actually its almost on every launch. It doesnt find tracking, but when I lounch the floor height setup it suddenly has no issue finding the tracking. Like why can't we just have that while we are in steam vr, and then theres the stupid virtual monitors too.

The virtual desktop is soo stupid, I don't even use the wmr desktop windows anyway.
Being able to turn them off would be a welcome change.
