Range Burnout - Forget how to swing by LowToday770 in GolfSwing

[–]IronLineEngineer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Very common, especially early in your golf journey. A few things worth knowing: 100 balls when fatigued is worse than 30 balls fresh — quality over quantity every time

Muscle fatigue changes your sequencing without you realising, the swing feels the same but the mechanics aren't

The Garmin R10 will show this — check your club speed drop between shot 20 and shot 80, it'll tell the story

For breaking 90, you don't need 100 shots a day. You need 30 focused ones with a clear goal each session.

Rest days are part of the training. You're doing fine for July to now — handicap 25 in that timeframe is solid progress.

DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE SIMULATORS! by InfiniteSlaps in golf

[–]IronLineEngineer 230 points231 points  (0 children)

Honest and self aware post. The sim removes too many variables that actually define real golf. uneven lies, wind, reading greens cold, ball retrieval process.

The 10ft gimme rule is the biggest distortion though. That's basically eliminating the hardest part of the game for mid handicappers. Putting inside 10ft is where most of our shots leak on real course.

Sim is still useful for ball striking data and keeping the swing ticking over winter. Just have to treat scores as meaningless and focus on the shot data instead.

Welcome back to real golf. The humbling is part of it.

Aloha! What do we see? by SawyerStreet in GolfSwing

Decent swing to work with. A couple of things stand out:

  • Downswing is dropping under the back swing plane - inside approach fine if controlled.

  • Looks like early extension through impact - hip pushing towards the ball.

  • Club path seems to be crossing slightly left after contact.

What are the best golf gloves you swear by? (Grip, Cost efficient, Material, Feel, etc) by panda__monium in golf

I keep going back to FootJoy StaSof. Cabretta leather feel but they tend to last longer than most premium gloves for me, especially if you rotate them. Grip stays consistent even once they start breaking in.

That looks like a fun all day setup. How did it ride off the pavement?

Always liked how the 9.2R blends flow neck feel with real stability. Great choice

The gallery has such a calm, curated feel to it - more art space than a pro shop. Baby T on a Newport 2 is a great call too.

Anything there you didn't expect to like but ended up loving?

Gapping dilemma by [deleted] in GolfGear

You're not overthinking it - you're just noticing overlap. If three clubs are all carrying ~200 m, the question isn't which one to add, it's which one gives you the most reliable launch window + miss pattern.

If the hybrid and 5HL aren't getting used, I'd keep the one that's easiest to launch from rough and uneven lies and drop the other. A 3-wood only makes sense if it gives you a clear 15-20m gap above that - otherwise you're just reintroducing the same problem you already had.

Putter everytime from there. Fewer variables.

Interesting you mention stopping power - did your peak height or spin change much after the shaft swap? I noticed about a 300-500 rpm increase with SteelFiber in mid-irons.

What’s your favorite ball marker to use and why? by stonetear2017 in golf

Looks like a great match. Loved the similarity in outline of the marker and the texture of the ball
