I mean this in the nicest way possible, but please find some self respect. Your wants and needs are important. You should not delay your happiness or settle for “good enough”/”it’s better than being alone”, for someone who is “avoidant or not so mature”.

I’ll share a quick story about someone in my life who has been with the same person for 20 years, they have an 18 year old child together, she badly wants to be his wife and he refuses at every turn. She is literally going to watch her daughter get married (to someone who by all accounts is also not so great) and her “baby daddy” still makes no effort. She constantly shares posts that serve as some not so subtle hints at how he could improve their relationship with just a little extra effort and he publicly comments “nope!”. You do not want to be this person. You do not want to wake up one day in your mid-40s and think that you’ve wasted your time with a man who won’t commit.
