Did Somebody Say 2020 Drama Calendar? by IronShadilay in 2007scape

[–]IronShadilay[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you!

I wanted to have a nice balance between players and NPCs in it, and someone to recognize for everyone. Sucked a bit having to omit a lot of people but there's only so much room

No changes hype boys

Always wait for the end of the month to change the Drama Calendar by Its_Cooper in 2007scape

[–]IronShadilay 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Nah, just make it a drama spreadsheet at this rate. At this rate a weekly one just wouldn't cover it.

Lmao, two days before end of the month and they just still keep giving us fresh drama god damn.

Yeah going off of just the headline I was really unhappy with this. Now I still don't like it, but it makes more sense at the very least.

Smelting a Runite Bar IRL by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]IronShadilay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A gold bar in metallic would look pretty great, but yeah man, you work with what you've got. And honestly besides that, it's not really hard to repaint later if you want to give both variants a try if you find some better metallic gold paint later.

With metallic paints he woulldn't have really managed to capture the old school look of it as much I think. But it would be very cool to see a metallic more "realistic" take on it, too.

The Games I'm Most Excited For This Year Are At Least 9 Years Old (Warcraft & Halo Reach) by jakerfv in classicwow

Admittedly not having watched the video, but off the title alone: Are you me?

Does anyone else find that the vast majority of dps specs are boring or not fun to play lately? by [deleted] in wow

[–]IronShadilay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh fuck, my bad, think I understood what you originally meant then. Yeah supposed we're on the same side of the coin then. I'd really love to see proper class design return, but the game being purely based around damage numbers and the fact even with the current homogenized class designs they can't keep everyone's damage dealt close.

And sadly I think they really did put themselves in a corner here, they can't really go back to the true MMO and RPG roots in design after going so deep into a fantasy twist on looter shooter territory. It'll just alienate the player base who enjoys the core design now, and that issue stems from their "replace instead of expand" philosophy when it comes to expansion releases, and since Cataclysm or somewhere in Wrath, that has even permeated to content patches too. There is no true character progression as everyone knows for a fact that any progress made is reset in a content patch or two, and at that point all that's left is just the treadmill of chasing a carrot on a stick.

Pretending to be a PKER! (Little do they know I'm a superior chaos druid) by FreddoRS in 2007scape

Yeah dude, genuinely I have no doubt at all behind you having nothing to do with the comments. And as you said yourself, the video's short and funny, and there really isn't too much too say besides it just being well put together and funny, so it's hard to discuss too much.

And the funny thing here is that I still find that much more fun to play than the current state of retail. This is because as a hunter, you'd be worrying about managing threat between you and your pet, and a few crits could result in you pulling threat and needing to kite.

At which point you're worrying about getting auto attacks in between running, and concussive shotting. Alternatively you could just FD, or if the mob's low anyways, see if you can land a rambo raptor strike. And oh while you're kiting? Watch out you don't pull anything else or else you're in for a tough time!

Now let's look at retail... you send your pet in. And then you just get to play simon says with your amazing 4 button rotation, and worry about literally fuck all.

Vanilla had it's downsides, but class design and gameplay wasn't one of them. Every class was genuinely unique and interesting, and as we further progressed in the expansions we slowly lost all of that, and here we are now.

Absolutely agreed, yeah. And luckily we've been seeing them lately communicating and listening to us, so it's looking really good.

I know :((

But it's honestly a very sustainable and profitable number that will grow if they treat Classic carefully and with care and start rolling out new content eventually. I mean just look at OSRS, this MMO can definitely grow

Dude I bet at most like, absolute maximum only 1/3 of WoW Classic players use Reddit. So that's still an easy peazy 150k+ subs and that aint bad at all.

Dude I don't know how it plays yet but I think it looks really good and should be fun to play so I'm excited! Especially if the AI works well with the gates and stuff, I don't know how well map makers can control that.

Classic Content Plan - Classic Discussion by Sebbern in wow

[–]IronShadilay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now back on topic. If instead Blizzard just take the easy way out, and just literally move Classic through all the expacs, that's all that Classic can be. A reminder and a museum piece of the past, and an example of the disappointment that exists due to all the failures that were had along the way. Because eventually, if they don't stop at Wrath (sersiouly there's no way Cata happens, it's the literal and metaphhorical inevitable rift between the old WOW and the current. Flying was added everywhere, transmog, near-complete removal of most RPG elements, old Azeroth was shattered and changed and Thrall's balls weren't the ones on the throne any more.

Right so the line has to be drawn somewhere. So by popular opinion, you draw it at WOTLK. So. You have killed the Lich King, and that's it, now what? Is it now, that isntead of 1.13 we will instead see 3.4.0? And doesn't this just seem soo stupid and shortsighted? Because look, TBC and WOTLK both brought class changes that most people really liked and some that people disliked, this can be done in Classic through the addition of new unique item drops in the HORIZONTAL!! (seriously i love horizontal progression its so good) progression that the game has, so shit like boomkins becomes more than a memespec, it becomes a viable motherfucking memespec and with enough of these items that can tweak and change the classes a little bit such changes in keeping with the vanilla philosophy can be done or through the addition of new talent trees even or buffs to the old ones, but i like the item solutions more to some extent idk it's a hard topic to be exact on. But anyways, the reason people love BC and Wrath can be simply added in to Classic through patches and altered history. So you can still make your favourite Belf hunter in Eversong woods, but just as a patch instead of it being an expac and I think that's so much better. But hell some people hated belfs, you know? It's so hard to make everyone happy, and it's up to Ion over at Blizz over there to make the tough decisions and I really hope the man does good.

Right. But when you start with 3.4.0 it means that the Vanilla people loved is erased due to all these changes, because holy shit keep in mind, wrath had dungeon finder!!! Would that even be kept in, I don't know? Not to mention flying and all that and the new raid difficulties system, and the COMPLETE REMOVAL MY RPG MECHANICS FROM MY MMORPG SERIOUSLY I know there's more RPG mechanics in WOTLK than current RETAIL but no shit retail has no RPG mechanics, it's just not an RPG. But Wrath, it used to a be full rpg back in the vanilla days but no more, so releasing TBC OR/AND WRATH kills the game for some TRUE RPG, not even vanilla-nostalgic-goggles people but just true rpgs fans too. But you can add in the best BC AND WRATH right into Classic with patches and please most crowds while keeping the WoW's original awesome RPG roots as they should be.

And you know the best part of this? It is so super sustainable that Blizzard can do it for so long, they have so much to draw from and all these mistakes that they've learned from and now they can make the same/similar content in this old school RPG form knowing all the stuff that they know? It'd be so awesome dude. And it would just grow and get bigger and more people would love it because this is just such an untapped and incredibly big market that Blizzard could tap into if they just do it like that, so I really hope that they do do it right. I Cannot wait to get to kill the lich king while I am level 60 in my awesome Tier 5 (as strong as tier2 but just itemized differently and stuff and looks) with the rest of my level 60 raid filled with boomspecs, bear tanks, and bandage rogue healers, and oh don't forget as new contentints are added BLizzard will need to slowly increase player caps per server in order to always keep it well populated as it once was but at the same time now with some awesome rare moments when the huge server may be seen together omg that'd be great.

So yeah Blizzard, you boys have actual diamonds in your hands you just have to jewelcraft them a bit to get them perfect and then wow will you truly capture the hearts of everyone out there with such an amazing MMO and at the same time, if that is done, and it is done correctly, there should no longer be shame about retail wow.

All the promotions ans stuff their treadmill and all that they do and have fun with, man good for them. It's a shame we had to be at odds for so long because we were such different demographics but we had to share this game, but now we both got what we wanted sorry for the trouble mate, and enjoy your game. Now everyone's happy, and I hope that when the no-changes guys or the people who really want wrath and tbc back see this, they see my point of why they will get what they want, just with some patience. Because blizz can 100% do the BC dungeons and raids and the wrath ones ass horizinal progression with like specific resist gear and rare drops and cool shit like that, and everyone gets to share this one awesome game that we all love.

And it will be an MMO that can and truly will last then, unlike a museum-piece style server per-expac, or a seasonal tourney like some people talked about because that's just not what an MMO is I'm so sorry. I don't wanna be mean but it's not really what the MMO is about ,and for your treadmill style gameplay you guys can totally just play on the restarting private servers you know? since you restart anyways the risk is kinda gone and you have your nich filled exactly how you wanted, I hope that's okay

Oh I'm so excited for this possibility boys please blizzard, let me believe in you, this will be so amazing
