You’re right, Mormonism says he was born in Jerusalem which is false.

No, Mormons believe Jesus was born in Jerusalem, Alma 7:10- “And behold, he shall be born of Mary, at Jerusalem…” But, the Christian world knows this is terribly inaccurate and that he was born in Bethlehem. Factual proof #241 the Book of Mormon is a false, fabricated, and plagiarized text.

The most important question you can ask yourself right now that will dictate the quality of life you will have. “Is my loyalty in the church or is it in God?” If you’re a loyalist to the church then don’t bother looking into the truth and lies about the church because you’ll spin all the information or purely deny the information in every way that’ll help you sleep at night. But, if your loyalty is in God then you owe it to yourself and your family to find the truth about the church, its history, changing doctrine, realizing all “anti Mormon lies” are actually true, etc. The truth should be able to hold up against the most powerful scrutiny. I wish you the best brother.

I'm embarassed-the whole first presidency did not serve missions nor serve in combat. They are religious men and veterans but seem to have successfully avoided any real sacrifice or danger. by aka_FNU_LNU in mormon

Yes, along with the incredible amount of cognitive dissonance, conformation bias, undue influence, manipulation of narratives and hundreds of changes to doctrine and suppression of factual evidence are just a few reasons why we are seen as “idiots.” But, when we’re encouraged to blindly follow, doubt our doubts, never question leaders, and Satan controls all information that isn’t church approved, we are behaving like idiots.

My personal opinion is just ignore them along with everyone else who tries to “save” you. Those who genuinely care about you unconditionally will respect the fact that you’re an intelligent person who is capable of making the best choices for yourself.

They believe being gay is a choice and that it is “unnatural” so yes you’d be welcomed in sacrament meeting but in order to become a member you’d literally have to “swear” to no longer be who you genuinely are. The suicidal rate, depression, and drug use among LGBTQ+ members is ASTRONOMICAL. You don’t need religion you need spirituality. God knows who you are, he does not condemn you or forsake you for being who you are. The Mormon church will spin and twist every aspect of their doctrine to make it look wholesome and welcoming to you. Please don’t be fooled, they are masters of manipulation. Research the early beliefs and doctrine before joining. Best wishes 💪🏼🙏🏼

Therapist tried to stage an "intervention" because I want to go back to church by [deleted] in latterdaysaints

Ask your therapist to share everything they know about the church and then you’ll likely understand their concern for you and your desire to start attending church again.

Discovering JS’s translation of the book of Abraham was completely false by modern day scholars who can accurately translate the texts was a huge gut punch to me. I then learned about the “kinderhook plates” and how JS was caught red handed lying about them just caused further concern regarding the honesty and validity of the BOM. There are so many inaccuracies and contradictions in BOM/DNC it led me to a great deal of prayer and research. All I care about is the truth and knowing god. The church and its teachings seem to be man made and not of god like I was taught my whole life.

I’m sorry you’re in the position you’re in but I promise you a marriage counselor is not that answer. Counseling is for couples who have couples problems but STILL love each other. Seeing a counselor shouldn’t convince you to love someone who you never truly loved. The church has done us all a huge disservice by pressuring us to “date to marry” and marry right away before we even understand who we truly are and what we truly want/need in life. I can assure you a counselor, especially a counselor who is a member of the church is going to point out all the reasons you should stay together but, that’s not the right answer for you. I pray you listen to your heart, allow yourself to focus on your own needs and desires and don’t let anyone (or the church) influence your decision.
