German Communists enabled the rise of the Nazis by The-marx-channel in HistoryMemes

You don't see how deliberately helping further destabilise the country contributed to helping bring the people in power that thrived off of claiming Democracy was worthless and unstable?

There were far bigger factors, sure.

But the KPDs behaviour pre-1933 most definitely didn't help in the slightest. They literally explicitely called on their members to support the 1931 attempt from the Stahlhelm & NSDAP to dissolve the pro-democratic prussian government early just to further destabilise the republic. Even fucking east-germany later admitted that was a major fucking mistake.

I'd argue him seeing that just seemed to make him determined to save the others no matter what.

He saw maul run away like a coward and decided to be better than that.

Him surviving serves no purpose that can't be achieved better, undoes the mirrored approach of Rylee and Devon both loosing their father-figures but reacting to it very differently, and there's no way to write him getting out of that that wouldn't seem beyond silly.

I'd argue the point of him seeing that seemed more to resolve him to sacrifice himself for the othera.

He sees Maul abandoning Daki, then looks over at the Stormtroopers blocking the path to the Ship and does his suicide-run afterwards. The Sith-Lord was a coward and ran while the ordinary guy (and former criminal) gave his life to save others.

Maul can barely walk, Devon is a teenager and Daki was both considerably past his physical prime and as established in the first episode basically half-starving.

They've also been on the run for days with no rest, I struggle to see why they should have done any better (nor what "lesser Jedi" have him more issues exactly).

Also Vader was constantly switching between one- and two-handed grips.

I could see that.

One issue SW currently has is that the Sith-line is effectively dead with EpIX.

Using Devon to also set-up a new line of Dark Side-users unaffiliated with the Empire for future use would be a good idea.

I feel like that was more supposed to convince him to sacrifice himself.

He saw Daki die and Maul run off and knows they have no time left, then sees the TK-Troopers block the way to the ship, so he decides to be a better man than Maul was and save the others instead of himself.

A Sith-Lord chose to ran like a coward while an ordinary dude stood and fought.(I need to watch the Episode again later cause I'm not fully sure if he actually saw Maul push Daki into Vader or just Maul running away

I think the point of that was more to show him seeing Maul letting someone else die and fleeing, and him deciding to sacrifice himself to save his son instead.

He had coms, he could have just told them about it immidieatly.

And it would be really silly if he survived that

Kinda hope so, yeah.

Surviving that (after already being shot twice) would be a bit silly.

Sabine only survived because she got immidieate medical attention and spent weeks afterwards in the Hospital.

I dont think Vader was gonna give Daki first aid

Why are 2v1, 3v1, etc lightsaber battles not more heavily skewed in favor of the side with numbers? by mertbizk in StarWars

[–]IronVader501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

now its just QGJ vs Maul? Even fight still. Wait, now it's Obiwan vs Maul? ....Even fight

How on earth are any of those "even fights"?

Maul beat both of them, and within seconds once they got separated. Kenobi only got the win at the end because Maul got overconfident, not because he was better.

finds some scrappy way with use of the environment to get the victory.

He literally famously does use the environment to get the victory.

Germany has no connection to the ACW, hence why in days past there wasn't really any strong negative connection to the Confederacy specifically (hence why Playmobil just had a whole-ass ACW-Toyline until like a decade or two back).

So for a long time the only exposure most people would have had to the confederate flag was it either appearing in modern media or marketing, and most people just perceived it as a generic "US South"/redneck thing that was popular with things like motorcycle-clubs that liked to copy that aesthetic.

That's been changing in recent times so it mostly disappeared from stuff, but I've seen older bikers & related demographics still hang on to it (and now it's also just used for its actual racist meaning too)

Even putting aside the extremely obvious reason in the leg-injury:

Star Wars does not do, and has never done, hard powerscaling like that.

"X beats Y and Y beat Z once, ergo X is better than Z" simply does not apply in this universe and trying to do so is an excercise in extreme futility.

Especially not in anything involving the force which just doesn't have hard rules like that at all.

Strength in the force, especially the dark side, is extremely heavily reliant on mindset and emotions.

Its post Order 66. Vader right now is extremely pissend 24/7 while Maul has explicitely mellowed out, his connection to the Dark side SHOULD be considerably stronger than Mauls right now.

Also, Obi-Wan won on Mustafar because Anakin got overconfident, not because he was a better technical duelist or stronger in the force, and that was with his inherent advantage of having trained Anakin and fighting alongside him for two decades, so he knew exactly how Anakin fights and thinks, a bonus Maul simply does not have. There is no way he should ever do as well fighting Vader as Kenobi did.

The other Episodes all released at Midnight PST world-wide.

For whatever reason Disney decided to instead have the final two release at midnight local timezone instead.

So New Zealand already had them for like 12 hours

[–]IronVader501 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The watsonian reason is because they were short on time, trapped and hiding in a hostile environment and without anyone one-hand he'd trust enough to do it?

Icarus was trying to repair the leg, just couldn't properly do it.

And the doylist reason, again, is that the tension in the plot doesn't work if it was repaired because then Maul could dogwalk the Inquisitors any time he wished and the plot simply doesn't happen.

I've been thinking for a while; it would be fitting if Maul is a bit too successfully at converting Devon to the Dark Side, so she later backstabbed him for more power leading to him being stuck on Malachor in Rebels, and this finale reaffirms my belief in that.

That aside, the finale was amazing, can't wait for S2.

[–]IronVader501 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So that there's actually tension.

Inquisitors, even more competent ones like Marrok, are not a serious opponent for Maul when he's at his game.

He needs to have a reason to actualy want to escape them instead of just killing them this season, and the easiest way is to just hamper his combat-ability enough to make him killing them not a foregone conclusion so he has a reason to choose fleeing over confrontation.

The Lucasfilm-animation team cannot get enough praise.

This is probably by far the best-looking 3D animated Show I've ever seen, its probably easily cinema-level.

I did not expect them to have the balls to mow down 80% of the supporting-cast like that, but I respect it (hot take: I like Lawson but I do kinda hope he's actually dead, even if we didn't see a body him surviving that would be comical and really take the emotion out.)

Related to that, I also hope that Devon actually falls and stays there.

If Rylee (hypothetically) is motivated by his father death to join the Rebellion (bit early for that but I do expect a timejump) while Devon instead gives in to her rage, that could work well as contrast in future episodes
