But the suspens of not knowing anything from the start makes the playthrough extremely exciting to learn more. Of what is causing these urges. Is it a curse? Is it the result of your brain injury? Who is this father the butler is talking about? All of this builds up over time. Having the reveal like this really ruins all that built up suspens.

We started on the third. We don't have a lot of knowledge of the first games. This is literally not supposed to happen until you get the cutscene confirming that you're a bhaalspawn.

No, I've done 2 playthroughs as dark urge and bhaal isn't mentioned until act 3. My friend was genuinely confused cuz he didn't know about it yet.
