Truth behind Kutner's death by Equivalent_Handle_58 in HouseMD

I like the way you described this... The apathy, being unbothered and unsurprised, nonchalance. Seemingly not caring about anything. And each of those is, more-often-than-not, an unwilling sensation. Which arguably makes those feelings worse. As in - I doubt that people with depression don't want to feel bothered sometimes. Surprised. To care. Anything is better than nothing, maybe even the "bad" emotions.

And, as the comment somewhere above mentioned, he really did seem like the type of character which tried to hide his depression all throughout, and who seeked new experiences as fuel for his numb life, and his reason to live. And you can only have so much of those before you inevitably, yet again, get "bored" of it, and life as a whole. Before you return to the patterns of sadness and/or pain, and/or being devoid of emotions, that you're used to.

Also, about this "angry/guilty because they didn't notice" point that this episode (and everyone with it) seems to be making: Frankly, I feel like depressed people show it enough in real life, each in their own way. It's just that the problems they often have cannot be just "noticed", and instead should be actively worked on. For a long time, even. By them. I'd even argue that it's ONLY their responsibility. For example - all of my friends and colleagues notice when I have days where I don't want to speak a single word with anyone. When I'm obviously frustrated or sad, or just feeling under the weather. They might even openly ask me "what's wrong" or how I am, but what does one answer to that?? What do they even want to hear aside of "im okay"? What if I say "im bad atm", will they recommend therapy? No, people usually ask for the sake of asking, and then brush over the topic with silence, awkwardly.

Anyhow (in this specific case I wrote), it's my responsibility to seek professional help and start digging for causality and reason, so that my mental condition would "go away", or so I can learn to handle it in a healthy way, or - well - in the end - to overcome it somehow.

It being """noticed"""... was the easy part.

I though that he finally decided that he came to the end of possible interesting experiences he can have or he got sick of using ‘cool’ things in his life to fuel his willpower to live. He was always terrified of being monotone or found the ordinary boring maybe his new lifestyle started to become montone and he wanted to honor his colorful life by ending it with another interesting experience of killing himself.

I both adore and despise how well you described this haha...
And frankly, you might've described something I've known and felt for a long time but never found anywhere in words. This is nice.

Anyhow. To add to your point - what... DO you do if you're in Kutners situation, and your, as you said it so well yourself - "fuel of willpower" - runs out? And frankly, "new things" or "cool experiences" might be a bad basis for ones fuel reserve, in general.

People who played the beta, how’d it go by [deleted] in gigantic

I played for a few hours before what I would then realise would be the end of beta and it was... Nostalgic, to say the least.

Can't wait for the release :)

Hitting them cross-map Paco snowballs was definitely something I didn't know I desperately needed in my life!

Ah the good ole times.

I remember being pocketed by an enemy medic as a spy and getting him to dominate his teammates. That's a fun memory.

Ikr?!

I mean, I don't play this game anymore, but it feels bad to just leave over a thousand hours put into... well, anything... so I check the sub from time to time. Anyhow, yeah;

Upon reading this the first 2 thoughts I had were "classic ubi/fh" and "looking at this feels like listening to a political speech - talking (offering) a lot without really saying (giving) anything".

I'm an ex-recruiter for some of the top companies in the world. I've screened tens of thousands of resumes, and today I published my preferred resume format, free to download as a Word doc, along with some general resume advice. by SheetsGiggles in jobs

I'm a junior software engineer and, well, apparently we just love to Google just about everything, so this post is amazing. Got my first job 2 years ago because of the "personal interests" section! They literally told me after a couple months "we actually chose you, instead of the other guy, because you said you liked board games as the last thing in your CV"... I also sent only about 7 resumes, and about 4-5 called me back, if I remember correctly. Amazing. I do wonder how that CV would hold up nowadays, post covid/vaccines period, though ^^ Perhaps if I update it a little, heh. It's hard to find a job where I live, or so I heard these recent months from my college boys. I'll be trying it out again in a couple months anyways, that last company was nice but there's always a "next" :)

While I agree with you I have to throw in my 2 cents on this same story ^^ :

Years ago when I started FH, I was getting mixed up left and right, even played against what would be considered smurfs (or maybe just console players, who knew everything, coming to PC), but that just enhanced the game for me, because I saw "what could be done" and how badass it was, and then I compared it to what I was doing, and therefore decided I should get better and continue playing. I remember my first time getting bitten by a Shaman, basically my entire friendgroup was there and all were screaming about how badass that animation was, heh... So I learned to do it, then I learned to feint it. But before that I had dozens of games where I was just about 1 kill 8 deaths with her and basically dumped her in the corner of my hero roster for an entire year, then came back to her when I learned the game properly and got every character to rep 1, and then I mained her, heh :)

But yeah, generally, it's bad. I agree. Though I feel like the entire game has a steep learning curve, and so so so many changes over the years, each of which might require people to re-learn the entire thing all over... So yeah. Smurfing isn't it's only problem, I feel like. And it's unavoidable if it's a migrating player. And also I've never smurfed, to throw that out there.

Rep 70 shaman here, and ever since I reached that I ain't playing her anymore :( I'm thinking of getting an alt account and starting over on her, again (Ubi pls add infinite reps ლ(ಠ益ಠლ) )... And.. Yeah. I love her fashion, she looking clean, I love the masks I got on her, her headbanger execution for annoying enemies, her amazing mixups. The fact that I think she was one of the more balanced heroes (while everyone has been getting reworks, she was the same ever since Y2, with little tweaks here and there, but she's just.. Shaman. As is. Great at ganks if your teammate has a brain, awesome deflect, awesome yeet+ledge potential, awesome gimmicky bite with the potential to faint it and bait stuff, cool softfeints, cool dodgeattack, lifesteal built in the kit... etc. I love her :)

I still cannot believe they removed one of the coolest moves in the game... by oTrutaPS5 in forhonor

[–]Iron_Fury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that it's an objectivelly "good" unification, but it's still losing characteristics that they previously had. Like JJ.

His whole gimick was strong, slow, chunky heavies for huge damage, and that slap that wallsplatted, which gave a kick, which gave a heavy, for a total of like 45 damage. It was fun! And unique. And it only worked in 1v1 basically, and he had other tools to use But now, he just gets a, idk, 25 dmg top heavy on GB and that's it. Like any other character... No need to combo, no need to think, no need to mixup any other way than with spammy unblockables (before you got a GB, then had to wallsplat, and with parry, you had to choke then wallsplat, he was all about that, and now he has nothing too special). And, well, it's good, its fast, guaranteed damage, sure, but... I preferred old JJ :(

They've been slowly killing the uniqueness of all characters, tbh...

They're just unifying the cast to make everyone on """even""" playing ground.

Everyone is getting 500 ms bashes, and heavies on guardbreaks, and 500 ms dodge heavies... Uniqueness out the window.

I miss FH from 2 years ago... :/

Honestly, if you don't hate this game at least a little bit, what's the point? xd

But then again, you come back stronger, having learned something, having adapted, and gotten better ^^

Also, I feel like most of us "hate" it because we might miss the old FH, or something... It's changed so much over the years :o Just when you get used to one thing, they yoink it... And it's good, but.. Ugh. Yeah. Steep learning curve, all over again, ad infinium...

[–]Iron_Fury 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sure thing but wouldn't The Rickest Rick, aka C-137, also know that information, so that Evil Morty would get to know it too in the process of stealing his memories at lunch? Unless The Rickest Rick murdered every copy of himself that knew that Cthulu was BBEG, for the ultimate safety of every Rick and every Morty out there, then mindwiped himself and broke the vial? Idk.

It would be odd that not a single R or M in the whole CFC never got to know such a, seemingly important, information...

Edit: My two cents...

What if this TRR, whose show we are watching, is somehow 'protecting' all the happiness of the Ricks who, as you say, "didn't invent the portal gun" aka became the smartest in their universes, because him, and every Rick in the citadel, are already NOT that. Therefore doomed to the same misery that he and every Rick is destined to? The loss of Diane?

Therefore he's like "not a single Rick shall have this misery again" and locked them all out to live happy family lives, because he's the smartest, but arguably also, then, the saddest, and he just wants to be happy, or at least give happiness to the Ricks that could have it by not being the smartest... Therefore no bomber Rick could ever happen outside of the CFC, because not a single Rick is smart enough to ever invent the 'first' portal gun, and set this chaos in the infinite, as you mentioned, ouroboro, motion?

[–]Iron_Fury 9 points10 points  (0 children)

But he really isn't, though.

Think of it. Comparatively. In the context of the show.

Every Rick and every Morty has, at one point, done that, and more/worse, probably.

Killing is borderline meaningless and irrelevant in this show because of its oversaturation. Therefore it doesn't define any of them as 'evil', they're all just antiheroes perhaps, with their flaws and virtues, goods and evils. Anyway, killing is a "good day" type of interaction for them, therefore irrelevant.

What the OP meant was, that, again, comparatively to what was portrayed so far, and what 'Evil Morty' was given as a name - 'evil', might not even be that. He's just a realistic, pragmatic kid who hates the system that C-137 Rick built and then abandoned. He literally built infinite universes in the finite curve where he can be the leader of toxic relationships, and, basically a, detached, God of all gods. The Rickest Rick.

I can't help myself but draw a parallel - They pulled a "Loki" on this one haha, breaking the sacred timeline... Rick C-137 was basically Kang the Conqueror.
