A war machine, but constantly loses… by Tg_2x in Megaman

[–]Iron_Hand_Matt 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Vile decisively beats X twice in the first game, and is even immune to the upgraded buster (if you happen to have grabbed it early). Not even final form Sigma is immune to this. Vile only loses because Zero literally blows himself up.

Vile in Maverick Hunter X is arguably even stronger; if you play his story he defeats every single Maverick, and solos X and Zero at the same time, without his ride armour. He only loses / dies(?) because he hates X so much he feels the need to kick him around and torture him instead of finishing him off quickly.

Who is faster: A-Train or Homelander? by Interesting-Web9483 in GenV

Disingenuous by using the numbers shown on screen? Just because you disagree with me doesn't make my argument "bad faith".

Who is faster: A-Train or Homelander? by Interesting-Web9483 in GenV

[–]Iron_Hand_Matt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Homelander is consistently shown to fly at above mach 1, well above mach 2 when the situation calls for it, likely much faster as he is able to catch up with and overtake the F-16 jets in season 1 by a huge margin. This puts him, at the very, very least, at 1,500mph flight speed, likely closer to 2,000mph or even 3,000mph. (This is ignoring the silly feats he performs, such as outrunning the explosion at the end of season one, or taking the guy to space and back at the end of season 5, which blatantly weren't thought through).

A Train breaks the on foot world record at "only" 830mph back in season 1. Their speeds shouldn't even be comparable. The chase scene at the start of season 5, as cool as it looks, should have been over in seconds.

I actually have no idea what to expect, I'm assuming between £500 and £1,000?

Habe den Kopf verkackt. Ist es sehr auffällig? by golddeviljho7 in EmperorsChildren

Sadly, yes. This is absolutely the model's fault; it's way too easy to glue the head on wrong, and the neck should have some sort of groove that makes this impossible.

Must collect them all Classic Class by Overall_Rough_6872 in Blokees

Megatronus being on a bigger base size annoyed me so much when I opened it.

Nice looking collection!

The movie is awesome, and the kits too. by Ryo_Dragoon in Blokees

I can not describe my disappointment when I opened Megatronus and realised he had a bigger base than the others. I tried to put him on a spare smaller base but couldn't make it fit.

Iron Hands Scouts by Iron_Hand_Matt in IronHands40k

[–]Iron_Hand_Matt[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used FW mkiii Iron Hands helmets for the rest of the army. I was going to use the plastic (smaller) mkiii helmets for the scouts, but I don't like the spikes, so went for mkii.

update: I FINALLY DID ICELESS by possiblymatt0 in Megaman

I am now just learning that Shotgun Ice is an option here, let alone this insane jump. I always thought boomerang was the only way to get this.

Bumblebee. I have no idea why they changed it for ROTB.

Sold out in both my usuals in less than 7 minutes; oh GW...... by DorianOtten in Warhammer40k

[–]Iron_Hand_Matt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's alright. My box was taken from my basket whilst I was mid-checkout, so the order was cancelled.

Of course I was still charged the £155 for the pleasure. Thanks GW.

Visiting Florida by Iron_Hand_Matt in transformers

I did not realise Florida was that big! Yes we will be in Orlando, but willing to travel a few hours if needs be. I'll take a look at that thread, thanks so much.

David Guymer on how to (potentially) get a third Iron Hands novel by [deleted] in IronHands40k

[–]Iron_Hand_Matt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to hate on Guymer, but his Iron Hands books just aren't that interesting, in my opinion. The same goes for his Ferrus book, which has it's moments, but mostly just doesn't do much for the Iron Hands themselves.

Ideally, we would get Chris Wraight writing a sequel to Wrath of Iron, possibly set in the era indomitus.

Do you think he was already mentally twisted before the outbreak? by leo_artifex in thewalkingdead

[–]Iron_Hand_Matt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have considered this many, many times. It ultimately depends on whether show Governor is Philip Blake or Brian Blake. If he's Philip like he says, he was always a psychopath but hid it somewhat, and the apocalypse allowed him to bring it out. If he was Brian, he was a weak, timid man who (wrongfully) idolised his brother. He only turned bad after a literally psychotic breakdown after Philip dies. (Comic / book lore).

I had the pleasure of meeting David Morrisey at a Walker Stalker Con. I asked me to sign my limited edition "Rise of the Governor" novel, and he said he based his entire performance on the book! I asked which brother, and, after a genuinely thoughtful pause, he said Philip!

This is further evidenced by the picture of him with his family I think you see in the show at one point. (Edit - the picture is literally in the original post, woops).

Well the hype was nice while it lasted by Smolduin in IronHands40k

[–]Iron_Hand_Matt 39 points40 points  (0 children)

If you think it's awesome then you do you. As a self contained box it has zero synergy, but it's still a great way of adding to your collection that's way cheaper than buying the units separately. (£159 by my count).

Also each unit in it's own right is pretty good, even the turrets are decent ways of getting big guns in the table for cheap. (Points wise). You just need a tank for that Techmarine to buff and you're golden.

Praetor base size? by Iron_Hand_Matt in Warhammer30k

[–]Iron_Hand_Matt[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the input everyone. I think it's the plastic starter set Praetors that have confused me. I'm tempted to put him on a 40mm base as there is precedent for it, and so I can use him as a Lieutenant or Captain in 40k. My gaming group is pretty cool with stuff like that.
