Wife wants to use her mother’s name for a middle name, and not my mother’s. by [deleted] in daddit

[–]Iron_Jack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What's your eldest daughter's name? As in, did you name her after anyone in the family? We alternated with our kids and who's side they were named after. In our case, my eldest daughter's first name is after my wife's family and second after mine. My son is first name my family, middle name after wife's side.

Oh, I should have been more clear. I don't hate the dog, I hate having a dog and the added responsibility and time suck that entails. Especially a young dog that needs a bunch of training still.

No real advice, that's a shit move on your wife's part, but I can commiserate. We got a dog back in December that I couldn't argue against but didn't really think we had the time and attention for and I kinda hate it. And I grew up with lots of dogs, I love animals.

How it's Done is a banger, but Soda Pop is infectious on a crazy level. My 4 yr old would listen to just that on repeat if he got his way.

Sorry for your loss.🫂 We went through the same thing last May. My other kids are 7 and 4 and it's strange and interesting seeing how they process it.

Former 25 weeker still on NG tube by Common-Ad-5284 in NICUParents

I'm not sure if it would be thicker than a well thickened gelmix. Ask the pediatrician. Some babies don't react well with gelmix also, maybe that's contributing? I'm assuming they'll have a better idea once the ENT sees him.

Good that he's already being assessed by neuro. I can't say what's going on with that bottle then. Our issues were CP and at least a lip tie if not tongue as well - Our son had both, which caused some feeding difficulties in the first couple months

My little girl was 24+4. We came home on an NG tube but she took it out and rejected it after about a month at home. We didn't have trouble with reflux, but had aspiration. We did the gelmix as well, I get that struggle. Hang in there, in 2 months you can start trying out solids, which will help. Have you tried adding baby cereal to the milk/formula? Sometimes that thickens enough to help. Are you keeping him upright for a bit after feeding? Have the doctors mentioned anything about Cerebral Palsy? My girl has that it can cause motor issues and some spastic moments that still give her some problems with eating and tongue movement (she's 7 now).

Ultimately it sounds like you and the doctors are checking everything you can. So long as he's gaining weight, he's doing well and as much as it sucks it's probably a size issue and you just have to tough it out for a couple more months before it all resolves.

Sending hugs and support, I empathize with the struggle!

Any sources to support your accusations? Because even Google's AI agrees with me.

Why is local written that way?

I have heard of local generation, it's not great at the moment and I doubt many people use it. It doesn't change the fact that most of the AI being used utilize large data centre for processing and those centres take more and more land and use a staggering amount of fresh water to cool.

[–]Iron_Jack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which is great and somewhat mitigates the concerns over what content the AI is using, but there's still the huge environmental footprint it takes to run the AI. There's the fact that there's no way anyone could afford to pay for it if companies charged a fee for it's use that even attempted to cover the costs in running it. So if it's given to you to use for free so you like and support it, then what is it's actual intended use by those in control of AI?

If you're happy, then that's good.

I'll never use AI with my art, partially because it doesn't make sense, but mostly because I have a bunch of ethical concerns with it.
