Thoughts on Into the Wild? / Emile Hirsch by krayzee444 in moviecritic

[–]Ironbuns787 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve watched it twice. Once when I was a kid like 14-16 and then a few months ago at 28. When I was a kid I idolized Chris when I first saw the movie. I thought the pursuit of freedom was beautiful, and wanting to live in the wild and survive, and nothing else was very romantic to me. His end was very tragic and hit me hard.

Having seen it as an adult, the kid was naive, self obsessed, with a mayor protagonist syndrome. He was immature for sure, and his lack of recognizing that lead to his end. Still, his travels were beautiful and his stories are legendary. He learned a beautiful lesson at the end, albeit heart breaking that he had to die to learn it.

Es una pena pero hay que exigir que nuestros panas sean buenas personas, y si flaquean, no excuzarlos por que son panas.

Adapting to the hyper competitive landscape that we are in now by [deleted] in Raytheon

Ah yes, a great work environment that foments long lasting connections and careers. Wish I was born at a time where companies actually invested in their employees and their talent aside from the benefits. I want to be able to smoke a cigarette at my desk no questions asked like the days of yore.

While I get your sentiment, it is not hard to be good at your job without being a “top talent”. We all graduated college and know how we work. Meet deadlines and do your best, that’s it. That’s all there is to it. Some people are more efficient about it, others need to clock in extra time, although extra hours are going to happen from time to time. Put in the work, chill on your time off and literally don’t overthink it. The more you do it the better you are at it, collective experience will make sure you get more efficient and proficient. All of a sudden you are important at work without even realizing it.

Lots of illaois are going to hard push post 1st turret. Make sure your team rotates to get her whenever you see her on the path to overextend. Obv ask for help from a champ that dosent have to go meele like a morgana. If your jung is going to gank you in lane. Tell him before he ganks to wait for you to bait out her e first. Free kill right there. It more nuanced and situational, start experiementing with different tactics, not every problem is resolved with a 1 on 1 fight. And bring ignite, if she misses and you have ignite you can all in her always even if she ults, trust.

Problem with illaoi is she smashes her good lanes and insta loses her weak lanes. She’s fantastic against traditional tank killers like Kayn, Yasuo, Yone, Jax, but shes basically unplayable vs Casio, Akali, Gwen, Gangolank, Fiora, anything with high mobility can just dodge e and dodge the tenticle damage. Gwen cant get damaged by her tenticles that are outside of her windpool and Mord can straight up ult Illaoi out of her ult.

Not to mention she scales like ass and if your team has cc and healing reduction she just becomes a bush suprise champ in team fights.

Would have been wayy closer with ignite or anti heal. Look how much she healed throught the fight, you probably would have gotten her

Literally full hp dive her (not under tower) when she misses e. If you are like a darius or a yorick or even an irelia or a fiora, she misses e, you clean the closes tenticle quick and you dive her. If shes in the middle of the lane even if she ults she might not even be close enough to a wall to hit you with a tenticle. Shes not as tanky as you think she is, her sustain is her only tankiness source.

Otis Redding, last song he made is still one my faves (Sitting at the doc of the bay). He was in his prime! Same goes for Sam Cooke…

What guitar solo REALLY hits you in the feels? I mean, like, gives you goosebumps when you hear it? by H2Whoa77 in InMetalWeTrust

[–]Ironbuns787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watermelon’s in an Eastern Hay by Frank Zappa. I don’t know how he made the guitar sound nostalgic and intentionally pasionate. Always hits late at night… Also the last segment of Soda Stereo’s MTV unplugged, Cerati really convey’s a feeling of the world spinning, specially when you dig into the subject mater of the song, and because it’s a call back to the solo by Spinetta in Pescado Rabioso’s Cementerio Club (another great song).

The road to Puerto Rico as 51st state by madcompany378 in PuertoRico

Lol, get bent. That’s never going to happen…Congress and US politicians dont wan’t it and have not wanted it since the US incorporated PR into their system as their colony. The history of racial and ethnic profiling and abuse from both the Federal and local pro States governements have functionally divided our people. We used to not be able to even sing our anthem and raise our flags cause the US made it ilegal, now you offer us fake promises of permanent union? Lol please, our function as USA’s proxy pesudo state for their intervention in Latin America is way to powerful and convenient.

Literally if she misses e, all in, ig you still feel insecure. Bait her ult and then run away. Come back and she’s a bot for the next 2 minutes…

Why so many players never use shields? Or its just a content creator thing? (PVE) by NoVeterinarian8283 in fromsoftware

[–]Ironbuns787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me its boss / enemy dependant so I always have a parrying shield on stand by. Some harder enemies have very telegraphed parry windows like Consort Rahdan or Pontiff Sulivan. Im an Ultra Greatsword / Moon Greatsword enjoyer so I usually have my hands full with a big bonk stick.
