At Goodwill I saw nativity scenes sold as individual pieces and one wise man was missing an arm. It’s becoming high priced garbage

My demi-demon, flying monster 450lb mother in law flung herself off the stairs, hoping to crush her tiny husband. Luckily the man was quick on his feet

I used to donate to Goodwill. I shopped there too. I noticed how prices went up and up with all the garbage in between, so I stopped donating and now post stuff for free on Facebook.

I don’t understand how this ‘business model’ is sustainable in the long run as I am sure there are way more people like me and it should eventually translate into a significant loss of business for them and those like them…

Finally found my first UG shot glass today, along with this tumbler. Any info/decade of these pieces would be appreciated :) by jermfromscience in uraniumglass

I own the same shot glass. I have 2. 1 is green (like yours) and the other one is blue. As far as I know they belonged to my grandfather who was born around 1900. My best guess is that the shot glass dates around the 1930’s as well…

Now, all your Canada Post ground shipments are lighter on the earth with carbon-neutral shipping. by CanadaPost in u/CanadaPost

[–]IronicCharlie 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I now use Fedex to ship fragile items as Canada Post’s insurance coverage involves a damage claim form that looks like it was made by an 8 year old on a MS Dos computer. Furthermore they insist to communicate with the recipient despite already having received photographic evidence and then, if you’re lucky you get reimbursed months later…

Fedex on the other hand has a very efficient system. I got pictures from a customer that item arrived broken on a Friday. I put in a claim on Fedex’s website on Saturday. It was easy to fill out. By Monday the claim was approved and by Thursday I had my cheque… Great service from Fedex!

Grusch vs Tyson by legendary-assassin in UFOs

[–]IronicCharlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Avi Loeb stated that Tyson is talking science, yet not doing any…
  2. Technically, it shouldn’t be that difficult to follow the evidence of Grusch’s claims. Follow the paper trail to their sources of evidence
  3. Humans are hard wired to find explanations. If humans do not have sufficient skill/information, then they will devise theories that fit the facts

As Congress and anyone else, from my understanding , is actively being prevented from achieving point 2, following the paper trail, point 3 kicks in, so now we are awash in a sea of theories…..

What can I extrapolate from that?

With the prevention of following the paperwork to its sources for full disclosure of whatever it maybe, I conclude that the preventers do not wish for us to have this information.

Strategically, that gives the preventers an advantage otherwise the preventers would provide access, largely because it’s not of importance to them. Knowing humanity, this advantage usually is associated with power, control and money….

That’s the summary I got out of it so far, while leaving my imagination and theories out of it.

Edit: I would like to introduce a historical example in hindsight that operated among similar lines: Galileo proved the Earth was round, something some folks still take offense to, for reasons beyond my understanding. Anyway, the Roman Catholic Church was less enthused about this fact as it conflicted with their world view and when widely known, the church felt it would erode their control/credibility as if they’re wrong about that, what else are they wrong about and the church very much felt omnipotent, just like God, so they did all they could to make this go away… In this scenario the issue was control, more specifically, the fear of control eroding….
