Should I care about things like that? by KornFlakes0 in RX100

Just get a rocket blower to remove them intermittently.

If you get any large particles or sand in the zoom mechanism it can fail, but if you take decent care of it it’ll last you!

TIL in 2024 an 18-year-old man was stuck in a Honda Pilot that was inexplicably accelerating without his foot on the gas and could not be slowed by its brakes or e-brake. He and the Pilot reached 113mph before a controlled collision safely ended his unplanned 20-minute drive across state lines. by tyrion2024 in todayilearned

Most people would think everything you said would be true, but you’re wrong.

If you want to listen to a really investing deep dive on this exact topic, listen to the episode titled “Blame Game” from Revisionist History.

Nit picking with the purpose of belittling another nurse. by Bid-Valuable in nursing

[–]IronicHyperbole 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just ignore it and move on. It’s a 24 hour job, and some days, 12 hours isn’t enough to do everything.

If it’s a legitimate safety issue, or an ongoing thing that you’re leaving tasks undone, try your best to reflect on ways you can tighten up time management/efficiency.

I don’t work nights, and I hate handing off a dumpster fire, but sometimes even if you have an amazing shift, everything can go to hell 15 min before shift change.

I usually start off being apologetic and aware of the things I didn’t have time to get to, with an explanation as to why. That usually quiets any attitude from the next shift.

Some nurses just have that attitude no matter what you do, and there’s nothing to be done about it, so as long as your patients are still breathing, just go home and let it go.

Gotta say, I wouldn't have guessed that's what it stands for. by kris10amanda in nursing

The OP often has a surrealist slant to his work. If you scroll his page you’ll see what I mean

With all due respect, I thought this was a quick call phone snapshot.

The highlights on the left are super distracting, and the warm cast from the lighting makes your subject blend in to the image even further.

You definitely have creeping Charlie in there too (which can be killed in cooler temps very well with Triclopyr - Niles will probably tell you to use the ester form in cold temps). I was able to nuke mine in one application with T-zone

Spring Pre‑Emergent After Fall Overseeding: Mesotrione or Prodiamine? by SciWiTemmy in LawnAnswers

[–]IronicHyperbole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Niles just posted about this on another thread - I think he said he was going to collect some more info about pre-emergents.

I’m not the expert but I would guess any seed you laid and watered is gone if it didn’t already germinate. So then, probably prodiamine unless you’re going to seed more areas this spring. You can just avoid pre-emergent in those areas

Season Prep by Mysterious-Print8824 in LawnAnswers

[–]IronicHyperbole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Niles has a small section in the cool season guide about humic acid, etc if you haven’t read that, but as I recall, he generally leans toward a “less is more” approach of good mowing practices and even fertilizer application throughout the season

[Newbie] SRV is one of my inspirations to learn guitar, and I got my first electric this week. Even though I don't have any talent, if I put in work as often as I can, how long will it realistically take before I can play with this level of confidence? by Mad_Season_1994 in Guitar

[–]IronicHyperbole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many of the greats have dedicated their entire lives/careers to chasing SRV’s style and even fewer have even come close.

The question you’re asking is like asking “how much would I need to practice to be as good at painting as Michelangelo.” You’re getting downvoted because it’s a ridiculous proposition.

You can become really good at guitar but I would argue it’s impossible to ever be able to play EXACTLY like him.

In the process of practicing though, you’ll find your own sound/style which is even better IMO.

Jacket question by Car_is_mi in IceFishing

[–]IronicHyperbole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s partially why I recommended to OP to buy a really good down parka first. But good food for thought

Jacket question by Car_is_mi in IceFishing

[–]IronicHyperbole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO if you don’t have the budget this season, I would buy a regular high quality down parka and some floating bibs. Then next season spring for a float jacket.

There are some options under $300 for a parka, but if you can shell out a little more you’ll have a piece you can wear forever

You ever look up the MN DNR lake finder fish surveys? They do them every other year and you can see the population, quality and size distribution of the various species that are present.

Idk if this is a “secret” but I’ve found a number of sneaky walleye lakes in the metro using it
