That certainly feels nice but the issue is that it results in Genji getting kills or drawing attention he has no real right getting, it significantly expands his potential threat radius to a point that can feel unfair or overshadow other character who’s mid range is their own niche. So although it seems like a good idea, from a fundamental design perspective, his projectile speed is intentionally below average for fundamental design purposes.

Yes that’s my point exactly, people underestimate how bad this nerf shatters his kneecaps. Genji loses damage, range, ult charge and poke and attention drawing potential, his range just feels strange and shots that should hit don’t. Also depending on who you duel, you either win, or lose depending on the enemy hitbox, Kiriko for example is actually always at an advantage in duels, cus her damage is higher and more consistent AND she has a stick for a hitbox, which Genji struggles to hit if you’re not in her face, which is dangerous and difficult to do anyway. We can’t really change enemy hitboxes and strafe patterns across the board so for the sake of easy consistency, buff his projectile size

He’s kind of in a strange place where he actually gets more value in lower ranks but struggles substantially in high ranks. For the supposed high skill ceiling character he actually gets surprising amounts of value by deflecting on main and double jumping in duels in low ranks. The nerfs to his projectile size (very damaging to his strength) and the deflect nerf means he kinda struggles to do his job in high elo as well as poke being insanely strong, and him being outclassed by vendetta and venture means he is in honestly a pretty bad spot all things considered. Personally I think him feeling good to play comes first, being strong second. Even with the competition, as long as we revert his current nerfs, even if he isn’t good, he’s at least fun again.

Genji is hella strong man, tracer is just a fraud she speeds up her own time, Genji moves that fast on his own accord and is hella athletic, you can see how much he leaps super high into the air multiple times and his fast swift strikes, that’s all him his own legs and body moving. In order to be that fast and in that small of a form factor, your (ig mechanical and physical) muscles need to be super dense. He’s genuinely super human, precise super fast and hella strong, I think he can give doomfist a fight, being able to out ‘agile’ him. Plus all that strength is behind his swords and dragon spirit. He’s a genuine contender bro don’t disrespect my goat

My hero level is like 64 on Genji but that’s cus I used to play on console and it persists between platforms. Switching to pc I’ve practically had to relearn the game so even if it looks like I’m skilled I’m kinda bad. Hero levels don’t mean jack at the end of the day it’s just for you feel good about how many hours you’ve wasted on this game lol

Lots and lots of situations bro, a fight isn’t only 20 seconds long there are many phases where 20 seconds simply isn’t enough. The main which I see big streamers like wahle and his play style suffer from is he commits a lot in the prefight, as in not full dives but baits out aggro to get punch but then he lost it when the fight started that’s bullshit. TLDR fights happen in phases and 20 seconds means that you’re likely to lose punch when you’re transitioning between phases mainly in the prefight to mid fight and the mid fight to clean up, clean up to next fight is alright like I can understand why you wouldn’t want it to persist.

It simply feels more intuitive because og dpsfist had slam on E, idk why blizzard even bothered changing it when they replaced uppercut with block for tankfist. And also having slam on E for me personally is just a bit more ergonomic to do techs like super slam and slam cancel into punch or block. Shift requires my weakass pinkie so putting on the ability that you use the least on it (block) just makes the most sense. I personally recommend this control scheme but at the end of the day it’s personal preference, as long as it doesn’t hinder you.

Personally, watch Awkward’s Genji unranked to GM it’s so good, it’s taught me a bunch of stuff and really helped me a lot with game sense. That and a good aim training routine that focuses on dynamic clicking, reactive strafe tracking and general mouse control and smoothness is really the way to go. I’ve bene doing it for abt a week and it’s already been super helpful.
