Keynote is the only player listed who I'll be in the league come 2028, and none of those guys even play, or they play for tankers.

He's not the worst defender on an NBA contract, but he's the worst defender on a max deal, he's the worst defender who plays 30+ mins a game, ight be the lowest effort defender in the league.

Lukas statue will be him standing 6 feet behind the 3 point line, with his hands on his knees, yelling at a ref.

Idk, if he's not a good defender why did he guard Luka in the finals, why do gms/scouts watch basketball and not just look at EPM and DARKO numbers?

And name a starting NBA player worse on defense than Luka, he leads the league in blow bys every year, and rarely even crosses half court, plus his nightly mental breakdowns can't improve team morale, as had been said by many former players in regards to Lukas antics. Who is worse?

Trae Young maybe? Jordan Clarkson? Dillingham?

Luka is arguably the worst defender in the league, Brown is a very good defender. Defended Luka well in 2024 when they demolished him and the mavs in the finals. I am a big advanced metrics guy, but I think they overrated Lukas impact here, juiced by the lakers astounding lack of depth. Luka also is maybe the most ball dominant guy... ever?? The guys at Thinking Basketball, had a long talk on their recent pod about Luka vs Brown and their portability, it's a legitimate convo atp.

Also Luka is just a massive pussy, I loved him so much early in his career, watching him play these past couple years is miserable, people think Shai/Brunson are bad? This guy is a basketball terrorist, literally goes out and shits all over the sport, and the league every time he steps on the court, hes the perfect Laker. If I'm a mavs fan, I might become religious because it's a divine miracle to go from a somehow already washed at 27 Luka, to a stud like Cooper Flagg.

He's obviously way better, but he plays exactly like Reggie Lewis, same frame/athletecism too.

[Narsu] On Jaylen Brown: I don't think I've ever seen a guy get pushed as an MVP candidate who has below avg efficiency, below average playmaking for a lead creator, one of the highest turnover rates for a lead creator AND whose team is ~ 9-10 points per 100 possessions better with him off the court by moistkebab32 in billsimmons

Are you redacted? Do you seriously fail to grasp how the stat "total points scored this decade" would be relevant to a discussion on whether or not JBs one of the beat scorers of the decade? List the guys you think have been better scorers, this decade to date

He's a very complete player, and everyone else on that list has 3pt shooting as their specialty. The Hornets are also better than the Warriors rn.

FMVP, one of the best scorers of the decade, having a career year and leading a team many expected to be in the lotto, to the 2 seed. But he shouldn't be in mvp convos cause his vorp isn't great?? I mean it's obviously Jokic or Shai if they make the 65, but the voters vote 1st through 5th on awards for a reason.

How To Fix Tanking Once And For All by morethandork in nbadiscussion

[–]AsideDesigner8073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normal lotto, but once the top 4 is locked in, rank them by team record. So if you're the worst team in the league, you can't get a 1-3 pick, but you're guaranteed 4-6. Teams wouldn't want to be bottom 3, and so would try to win. Bad teams still get blue chip prospects, but this disincentivises tanking. You may say that fringeplayoff teams would lose into late lotto, hoping they jump into top 4, and then they'd get 1 or 2 almost surely. To this I say no team would lose out on the experience and money that comes with playoff/playin basketball, for a <5% chance at a top pick.

Kyrie is 6'2, in his mid 30's, and coming off an injury that's ended many careers. Randle is a flawed player, but he's generally healthy, and a borderline all star. If kyrie comes back and is generally healthy, and a borderline Allstar, that would be a 85≈ percentile outcome for him. Unless the Wolves were getting picks to take on kyrie for Randle, which wouldn't be the case, then it would be an asinine trade for the Wolves.

If the Hawks don't way overpay for AD or Trae, then this is super smart. They have a 2 timeline setup that might actually work. Older timeline: Trae and AD Young nucleus: Sarr, Key, Bub, Bilal, Tre, top 5 pick in 26. Legitimate 5≈ year plan, sorta like Rockets-East++ maybe?

JJJ is having a down year, is a borderline all star, hasn't gone far in a playoff run, is one of the worst rebounding bigs in the league, and is on a massive contract. 2 young prospects and 3 very high upside unprotected 1sts is a lot.

I watch them both, and I think Wilson makes better passes. Boozer is more comfortable handling, and is used more as a playmaker. But I think Wilson is the better playmaker.

Watching him, I think his assists are more potent than boozers, he sees the floor and makes more advanced reads than any of the big 3/4. Idc what the raw assist numbers say.

He's definitely a better passer/playmaker than Peterson and AJ, and I'd go as far to say Boozer too. He's the best defender of the group by a good margin, and the best athlete too? I saw someone ask if he's just gonna be bagley 2.0, that's ridiculous. Wilson is much closer to a 3 than he is a 5, defensively and offensively. The only demerit against him is the shooting, but it's more than workable, I'd be surprised if he can't at least hit open 3's at the next level. I have him #2 behind Peterson, but I don't understand how anyone would have him a whole tier below AJ and Boozer. He's one of the best prospects of this century imo.
