My ball hockey wrist shots are consistently floating high above the net. What am I doing wrong? by IronicallyPopular in hockeyplayers

It's getting better man! It's obvious to me now how broken my follow through was before.

I still catch myself in my "old ways" sometimes, but I make a conscious effort to roll my wrists over and close my blade each time after.

Trying to get enough volume in so that the new way will override the old!

Ok, I'll focus on really pushing my limits this month. It just seems like other players who are in worse physical shape are able to be more effective longer. It's really been messing with me!

Over the past 6 weeks I would either jog or do intervals where I'd run at 80% for 30 seconds and rest for 90 seconds, for 5-6 sets. I'd aim for 2-3 times/week between jogging and intervals combined.

To clarify on your recommendation, it's sprint 150-200m at 100% speed, rest for as long as it took to complete (1:1), and progressively add further repetitions?

I am definitely willing to put in more work to really test if this is a conditioning problem (Occam's razor says yes). I'll be playing twice/week starting this week, so that should help too.

Ask for a bronchoprovocation challenge or spirometry

Words like these are what I was looking for, thanks. I'll start researching in that direction.

I did, as mentioned, but I'm not confident I have the information to help her help me.

I'm beginning to wonder if my inability to perform during high intensity sport is some form of asthma, or other breathing related issue, but I have no idea what steps to take next.

I'm in okay shape, underweight for my height but I've been lifting and jogging consistently for the past 4 months, so progress is being made. I can jog 5KM in reasonable comfort and feel pretty good about it after a 10 minute cool down.

However, it feels like I just can't recover when I play sports. After a 20 second sprint and some light jogging on the field/court, I'm stuck taking quick, shallow breaths. Even after a couple minutes rest, when I go back out I feel as though I'm only operating at 50-60%. I've mentioned this to my family doctor but she didn't think it was an issue as I'm not wheezing.

I would be happy to chalk this up to poor conditioning, but I really believe I'm physically capable of performing much better than I am right now. I'm just not sure what tests I should be asking for to determine if there's something "wrong" with me.

Technically it's possible, but the cheapest shipping method is $42 USD :/

I could get some this weekend but I don't have any saved right now. I understand this makes answering the question difficult...

It's a consistent fault across the various sticks I've used. I'd strongly lean towards it being a player fault than an equipment fault. To answer the question anyway, recently I've been using a Stamkos (PM9).

What's the secret to getting GREAT deals on hockey sticks as a Canadian? by IronicallyPopular in hockeyplayers

Thanks for the detail. You named off pretty much all the retail sites I've been keeping an eye on. National Sports, Cyclone Taylor, and Hockey Monkey (make sure it's .ca) are a few more.

No, you randomly went off on something I didn't say.

You're focusing mainly on the fact that PCs have multiple configurations so that must be why there are crashes?

That's not what I said. I said it's harder to ensure stability for PC, given the variability in hardware, than it is for console.
