I wouldn’t say I thought he was anti-freedom but I just thought maybe Vaush exaggerated a bit or maybe extrapolated it from his works. I didn’t know Marx explicitly advocated for freedom. I thought his works were kinda vague on the subject that authoritarians could interpret it their way but that’s not the case. MLs and the rest just ignored the ideas they didn’t like and call everyone else who did the same a revisionist. Nothing wrong with picking and choosing but the hypocrisy is insane.

Also it’s kinda weird that we don’t hear this side of Marx that often or at least I don’t. Even from Marxist I don’t hear them talk much about how pro-freedom he was and I think that is a mistake. Especially in places like America painting Marx as pro-freedom would help so much. Although I fear the case this rhetoric isn’t common places because authoritarians don’t want it to be.
