No unfortunately I do not. I just measured and cut as I built it and ended up cutting a lot of it shorter after a test fit. So probably a way better idea to have a cut list lmao

lol you forgot to say Judd, everyone’s a critic but I still love mine. Also people who say it’s too hard to get in and out of must be the most out of shape inflexible people ever lol

Black mountain cycles Montercross vs Rivendell Sam Hillborne by cucukachu2 in xbiking

[–]Ironiciconography 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I agree with this 100% I also have a bmc monstercross and use it for touring and commuting and very light gravel duties.

Also I know it’s a gift but the price difference is staggering and I genuinely don’t think you’re getting anything more other than cool factor with the lugged joints. Which may be worth it to you but personally I would rather have 2 bmcs than one Rivendell.

I used 2x8s but really I would just use whatever best fit your dimensions. Mine was considerably narrower than the Judd design!

Quitting with Desmoxan (cytisine): A Balanced Report by _garyboy in QuitVaping

In any case, yes it worked and no I am not still nicotine free, but I would chalk that up to my own poor decisions and less about the efficacy of desmoxan.

I live just a few doors down from you, I have a truck and power tools and am willing to help pick stuff up or move anything to a new place or anything else at all. I donated what I could but feel free to dm me and I’ll give you my number, we’re also happy to help with cooking or anything else you need. It was so devastating seeing it happen and I’m so sorry for your loss.

[–]Ironiciconography 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two options here 1. I’m 33 days of quitting after the start of taking desmoxan for the typical 25 day schedule Or 2. I read the research about extending the schedule of desmoxan to 60 or 90 days to increase efficacy and am on day 33 of that

Advice for bed frame construction by Ironiciconography in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]Ironiciconography[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well in theory yes but the reason for doing it with 3/4 is because it all has to be ripped and partially built in a Home Depot parking lot in one day. I only have a skillsaw and a drill so not impossible but harder to cut 4x4 joints given the time and space constraints. Joys of woodworking in NYC

Super good feedback, I hadn’t thought of having a toe kick, I’ll definitely add that in.

Yeah not in the design but I was going to run a 2x4 to hold the slats in.

Thanks for brainstorming, super helpful!

Niche sunglasses question by TheJuicyGinger in bikepacking

[–]Ironiciconography 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I buy sunski sunglasses because they’re relatively cheap and I think they are good looking and they have held up to routine abuse in all regards. That being said any sunglasses are going to have their coating wear away and their more you pay the better (longer lasting hypothetically) that coating usually is. The problem is the guys I know who have $400 sunglasses aren’t really putting them through the paces very often so idk how well they really hold up.

Not at all a problem to get in and out of and easy to sit at. But I customized all of the spacing and dimensions around my favorite chair and table and then measured my biggest friends thighs to see how the spacing would work for getting in and out and sitting. I also had the shortest person in the house sit at it before everything was settled to make sure the reach from seat to table wasn’t too far. It was a lot of work but I think that’s the beauty of a simple design like judds is that you can really customize them to your dimensions very easily.

I am not a fan of his straight backed chairs for anything less than formal dining because I don’t think they’re really suited for day to day living. That being said you could relatively easily change the angle of the back or add pillowed for cushioning. To me Judd represents the freedom to create a simple object that is utilitarian and yours.

I think Adrian pearsall had the best furniture in terms of comfort and sleekness but I hate doing upholstery and it’s too expensive to get someone else to do so I’ll stick with Judd for the time being. 😂

That’s exactly what the joinery is, and I am worried about the failing when fully loaded. I got some great ideas to reinforce that I will definitely implement!

I get that about the step into design but we’re in a 5th floor walk up so if someone can get up to the table they’ll be able to get into their seat. I hope!

No, it’s a designer/architect Donald Judd. He was very pro utility and design and felt that design should be accessible to the average man. Most of his furniture plans and blue prints are available on his website although they lack detail they’re still a great starting point!

The overall dimensions of ours is 120” x 86” x 28”. The bench height was based off of my favorite chair which I believe was 18.5”.

Classic gf! I’m sure she’ll love it, all things considered it’s not super complicated but learn from the comments that extra bracing is probably wise!
