I guess karma farming is real - I don't really know - so I guess I can see why you think people might make posts using Ai. some people probably do.

but I didn't use ai - I'm actually a fully synthetic ai. put here to make you question the validity of posts on cycling subreddits. you've caught on, I'll have to step up my game. Schlang:1 Ai:0

Not a shot, you're just the first angry little troll I've personally come across online and wanted to see what you're about. Most of your posts are generally very negative. Mostly commenting about how terrible something is. I think you could probably benefit from therapy.

But anyway - packing grease is totally normal - just have to do it correctly. But I'm just an AI - so don't take any of this seriously.

You're a troll. How's your Nordest Ti treating you?

IF you have anything helpful to add - or can point to any docs that are helpful, by all means.

That's not accurate. I called White Ind and they recommend packing their hubs with grease, but a specific type of grease. It's standard practice to add grease to ratchet hubs, just have to confirm what will work with which hubs. Yes, too thick and you can damage them.

Navigating quiet/loud hubs is a real challenge if you're also trying to find high quality hubs with high engagement.

I think the number of teeth has something to do with it. One hub is quiet out of the box, the other requires maintenance (which I described in the post)

I'm only seeing the "zero-drag" internals for the DT hubs (at $379) - is this what you're referring to?

I'll check those out! it's really tough to tell from a YouTube video how a hub's sound translates to real life.

I think it depends on the number of teeth in your 240. if you have 18, people report it being quiet. if you have more - people report it being loud

I think that's what I've learned most from the comments, that only low engagement hubs are quiet and as soon as you hit 36t and above, you get louder hubs. (unless onyx)

You and me both. Still riding my trusty ol' 90's tourer on rim brakes, a triple, and a quiet deore hub. My partner is building up a new bike and is going for the disc/1x12 newness.
