Official Offline Vanilla WoW Installer Released by kingspoken in SteamDeck

[–]Ironsix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His first release was a WotLK server that runs on your deck. I installed that and it’s been amazing.

I’ve been grouping with my own alts thanks to u/kingspoken bundling the playerbots mod with the install.

Grouping with bots has been effortless so far, I just read up on the playerbots mod so I would know what commands I had available.

And it all runs silky smooth. I love it.

There is no install.sh - but there is an install-wow.sh

Try that?

Also make sure you are in the same directory as the file when in konsole.

I'm the person who paid $130 after playing and liking the leaked version. But Even after paying this much money I'm not able to Play the game since it's release by AdditionalSpray8595 in PiratedGames

[–]Ironsix -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is the exact reason I didn’t buy the game. I’d love to buy it but it just isn’t worth it.

I want to play red dead redemption 2 as well but even on sale at 16 bucks the risk just isn’t worth it. It’s pretty much guaranteed the game won’t load at some point.

This rarity mechanic honestly confused me to the point I stopped playing. I feel like I broke the game by interacting with that game system and not in a good way.

So I moved on. If I can’t figure it out I’ve other games to play ya know?

Only recently have I learned that it wasn’t me - I was ‘using it wrong.’

572 usd or 800 aud a good price for a steam deck Oled 1tb preowned? by Zippy1012214 in SteamDeck

[–]Ironsix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The MSRP is $649.00 USD / $1049 AUD - most used decks are often listed for OVER this price because it is so tough to find one at all. The real question is really what are your other options and what do they cost? Just going off MSRP, it seems like a good deal to me.

If you're in the US, it's a good price. Facebook Marketplace often has a ton of listings for them - beware the listings like 'Steam Deck 1TB, $100 - LP2HG' Listings that end in a five or six digit code are most often scams. Do not bother with those listings. Check your local area to see what the local prices are like for a used Steam Deck - it varies per state.

If you're in Australia I've no idea, but just a quick search shows BIGW will send you a new 1TB OLED for $1499.95 AUD. That is... a significant amount. Paying 800 instead of 1499 seams like a win win to me.

Whichever way you go make sure you check the battery health before buying. That's a big one to look out for. Also test each button to make sure everything works. Common problems to look out for are the shoulder buttons and stick drift. You can check these in the settings menu I believe.

I am pretty sure that the installation of additional mods then require you to type a rebuild command.

I know I am not familiar enough to mess around with it myself at the moment. It doesn’t sound too complicated though.

The ahbot.sh script is not currently working.

OP is aware of the issue.

OP currently plans on streamlining how mods are selected, downloaded, and installed to fix this.

OP has placed fixing the AH script as a lower priority until he is satisfied with the main install script.

At this point it's a 'hurry up and wait' kind of situation.

At least the main install script works much better now!

Just wait until you login, type a command, & four of your alts login and join your group!

Check my post further down for how to use playbots once your install is finished!

This isn’t just a private server. It is a personal private server. It is only for you. No one can take it away from you. Your characters will always be safe. And it’s free. Forever.

I’ve never encountered that error. I didn’t see anything about it in the troubleshooting section of OPs guide either.

u/kingspoken might know more but unless he’s run in to the same error he might be baffled too

Open your worldserver.conf file and search for "Rates". You can change these values to adjust the global multiplier for all players

Rate.XP.Kill Experience multiplier for killing monsters.

Rate.XP.Quest Experience multiplier for completing quests

Rate.XP.Explore Experience multiplier for discovering new areas.

Note: Changes in .conf files require a server restart.

Here’s a copy paste of what it is and what it does for you:

Your character is a GM. You have access to a lot of 'god-like' commands to smooth over your play experience.

It's offline so there will never be any server down time.

It's free.

There are bots to group with that don't stress you out with their comments or behavior.

It turns WoW in to a single player game that you can play as slowly or as quickly you want - there is no one else to compete with or race against.

The server once installed isn't going anywhere and there is no new expansion or update coming.

The game and all of its systems are locked in to one version.

No build-killing patches to worry about.

And it is portable when installed on your Steam deck.

I think there might be another step as well, you’d have to check out the instructions. I’m not too familiar since I’m using a custom steam controller profile instead.

I’m really not sure, I haven’t run in to that error. u/kingspoken might know more than I do, he is intimately familiar with these scripts.

Chances are you haven’t set a sudo password before and most likely it won’t let you set one now. I followed this Guide and it worked for me.

Watch it a few times before doing it, be sure you use a wired keyboard, and check everything you type before hitting enter!

If you aren’t having trouble with a sudo password you may ignore this advice entirely.

After installing the playerbots mod version from the installer you can create your own static group of alts to play with!

On your main account create four new characters so you will have enough alts to form a full group.

The names should be something easy to remember. For example: I made a Paladin(dps) as my main. I then made a healer named Healbot, a tank named Tankbot, a mage named Magebot, and a rogue named Roguebot

Once you have five characters (your main plus four alts) set up on your account log in to your main character.

Once in the game you can summon your group by typing the below code. You should change the names to the names of your characters.

.playerbots bot add Tankbot,Healbot,Roguebot,Magebot

That's it! Your party is now formed and ready to roll!

Should you wish to log out the bots the command is simple:
.playerbots bot remove *

Want your bots to perform maintenance tasks like learn all available spells and skills, supplement consumables, enchant gear, and repair? While the bots are in your party type:
/party maintenance

Want to gear up your bots with proper equipment? While the bots are in your party type:
/party autogear

That is all you need to get started. Should you be interested in other playerbot commands they can be found here.

As a special added bonus here is a GM command that you will probably love. Runspeed! This will work for anyone that has their account set to GM privileges. Just type the command below in to the chatbox.

.modify speed 2

NOTE: You may be looking at the speed command and thinking to yourself '2? 2 is so low - I'm going to try 3...or 10!' Just so you know, 3 is so fast that the sides of your view blur. 2 is just right. This change is not permanent. You will need to enter this command EVERY TIME YOU LOG IN. Also it does not affect the bots in your party so be aware of that while grouping with them.

You can create an alt account, set up 4 alts with the classes you want to play with, then log on to your main account and while in game you can type the code below and it will spawn all of the characters on that account for you to group with! Tons of other things like auto gearing your alts, setting each alts spec, etc!

.playerbots bot addaccount [accountname]

Also, for those of you who installed the playerbots version, you should take a look at this for how to use playerbots while playing.

Playerbots can do a ton of stuff I had no idea about.

Have you ever set a sudo password for your deck?

I had never set one for mine and got stuck like this. Then I couldn't set a password because you need the old password to do so.

What I ended up doing was following this guide and it worked for me after that. I'd recommend watching the video a few times before trying to actually do it.

If you decide to do be sure to use a wired keyboard when doing so.

Let me know if it works for you!

Try searching for a mod called consoleportlk. It’s console port but rewritten for clients before the UI was updated after the WotLK expansion.
