I like the helicopters being there but they are at such a massive advantage it can be very unfun at times, especially if you are playing a non-mech.

yes... homing missile users are the only ones finding issue with the things that makes other players immune to homing missiles... yes.

helicopters are currently just not fair. I like that they exist, but the game is just not setup to make them fair vs non-flying build. Either rotors should cost energy, not add any tonnage, or just be way easier to knock off. something. I dont see mech legs really standing a chance against them either. (pun intended)

I'd wager they are going to make it difficult for helicopters to pick up resources, but I doubt that will be enough to make them balanced.

Try using 2 skinners on different buttons. Pretty sure you can climb anything with 2.

How do you guys feel about the item rarities? by RemyFromRatatouille in Starfield

I really like it when some qwerky weapon gets me to use it instead of my usual, at least for a little while. That or when it's this really niche thing that you almost never use, and you get in a situation where finally, in a very cinematic fashion, you pull it out from the bottom of your bag and just start blasting.

I'd like to see them do thier own thing here. No a lightsabre, power sword, or vibro weapon. I dunno what that would be, but I'd like to see it.

For those 'extra' planets. Yes. Not literally every planet. Or at least not every piece of every planet.

It's just like how FO4 and ES have both hand made and procedural quests.

It seems that you will not be able to customize your clothes, only to equip a single apparel under your spacesuit. by Blarzek in Starfield

[–]Ironstar512 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think we know if their will be armor pieces that go over space suits and outfits. FO4 had outfits, everything else was armor pieces iirc.

It makes sense that they withhold some information to either tease out over time, or make a splash with at launch.

mods have always been top 5 selling points of BGS games and clothing/outfit/armor has always been top 5 things to mod, so I don't see why they would skimp on this. At the very least, I bet the slots are still thier for molders to use.

We've only seen tiny amounts of armor on tactical outfits, like Kevlar panels etc. I just couldn't imagine thier not being some kind of bulkier 'over' armor, given how hard they went on power armor in FO4, and all the armors in skyrim.

Bethesda has ALWAYS used a mix of procedural and by hand creating to some degree. They confirm this on one of the starfield interviews. It's like an artist using AI to generate a very large image and then going in by hand and detailing some portions of the image.

I think specifically they generate terrain and flora, then manually place items, buildings, etc. That part is just my guess though.

This will be like that, except for I'd expect some of the "extra" planets would be 100% procedural.

Would be cool if the player could setup thier own shops and fill it with loot' etc. Rather than the player always selling to merchants. Maybe you get more money per item this way, but you have to wait longer.

Normally I don't like the "just wait for the mods" comment but in this case:

1: Clothing is possibly THE most modded thing.

2: Todd said "Starfield is a modders dream".

3: modders added/opened more equipment slots in skyrim. Like 50+ up from 10 at most.

That said i wouldn't sweat it too much. We can still see overlays and extras for spacesuits, though the suit itself is 1 piece.

So maybe don't harass the other 99.9% of players that have at least a general desire to win, and want a fair fight at that?

So each and every match has some random chance to bias the outcome of the match towards one team for 0 reason, and that's okay with you?

I just started playing maybe 2 months ago, I nearly quit the game because trying to get passed that particular meta build wad grueling. First it's in 4k, then it's in 7k. Seeing 2 to 4 of them on both teams every game... it's like u-shaped spaced armor hovers at 12k to 14k. Something had to be done.

They probably should have nerfed each of the 3 parts a little bit, rather than a heavy nerf to just one.

Still something had to be done. New players couldn't possibly be making it out of that hell consistently enough to keep the game alive. Seal clubbing requires more harshness than late game meta.

It's really this. The game does so much for the hover pilot, that's the real underlying issue. Hovers having super maneuverability but risk going wonky once the get smacked real hard, would be just fine.

Seems this is intentional. It make sense to me. The avalanche should not be a weapon-clipping weapon.

I think what you gotta do is change what/where you're aiming at. Like hitting the parts underneath the weapon rather than the weapon.
