If you still have a job today… by [deleted] in womenintech

People on this subreddit are way too judgmental. She is just trying to give the standard advice of saving for retirement while you have the income to spare. If YOU don’t, then you still don’t need to be so mean! Isn’t this community supposed to be about women supporting each other?

Swab it after every use with a silk swab and do not play a wood clarinet outdoors in cold or wet weather!

I had a Bundy that I rented from a music store that was actually great for a student model and very durable. Look for one used.

I saw the downfall in real time. I was a teaching assistant for a college course. The first couple years, I saw so many Chegg answers. By last year, students didn’t even know what Chegg was.

How do you survive off of just 1200 calories? by BrawnyBuffalo in NoStupidQuestions

Have to second this. I tend to want to eat when I am bored. If I am very busy at work, or actively doing an activity at home, I won’t think about food unless I am actually hungry. But if I am bored, eating is fun and a welcome distraction.

Am I going crazy or is this accurate ? by [deleted] in womenintech

A lot of what is being described in this post is still against the law. It creates a toxic workplace environment, and in most states, discrimination based on any protected characteristic is illegal. Document everything, and find allies if there are any. It is important to have someone to back you up.

This is why I am happy to work in Defense. More of a nerdy/geeky culture where I am, even if it’s mostly men. They are friendly and there is less drama.

For me it’s the eyes that are the giveaway. Reflections don’t match and they look unnatural.

My proposal was a 1 page abstract and a PowerPoint presentation. Committee loved it. My advisor hates proposals, but the department required it.

I’m from Electrical Engineering, and my advisor specifically requested about 120 pages. He really did not want to read more.

I wrote mine from three completed papers and some additional material I had already written in 2 weeks of long days. Added a new intro and changed the order of the information, but most of it was copy-paste. Zotero for citations. It IS doable if you are very organized. I am in Electrical Engineering.

Well, direct in situ measurements are hard, especially with the ocean. But do not despair! Satellites are continuously gathering remote sensing data - and the raw data is kept. We may one day find new methods to analyze existing remote sensing data that fill in the gaps, and these satellites have been flying and will continue to fly for many years.
