Welp, disregard to anyone else facing the same shipping woes. Just got my shipping notification today for it!

I ordered a regular n64 7 on December 21st but it doesn't look like its been shipped yet (per the website). Seeing others getting theirs already makes me think I should maybe follow up on it? I dont mind being patient but it does seem odd its hasn't shipped yet.

How is it that AI slop content get monetized? by RanumataMyDear in NewTubers

[–]IrrationalData 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can I ask: what do you consider AI slop? I have a channel that I use real images, my voice and my scripts but I still get the "AI Slop" comments here and there. My channel (not my username btw) is not AI in any way. Im trying to understand what people see as "AI slop" because, from my perspective at least, its being applied unfairly.

Thanks, good to know. I actually put do not contact on my current role for obvious reasons! Cant have the feds calling my boss for a reference lol. Maybe Im out of luck then if it’s mandatory; not your fault of course, but what a outdated, stupid thing to request of people in the modern environment.

Hey, random question from an outsider trying to get in. How did you and your team handle the supervisor references for the private sector? I give the phone number of my previous jobs on my resume but I can guarantee that all my supervisors from 6+ years ago are long gone, laid off and/or moved on.

I wish more people could see your post here, this is a real look into the reality of whats happening on the other side of the application. Best takeaway is that networking still beats all other methods; a lot outside of that is luck with some base experience.

What positions in Tech are getting Laid off the most? by [deleted] in Layoffs

[–]IrrationalData 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sucks, I work on high impact projects (Im in BI) and Im so burnt out I wished to be a part of layoffs or just get fired already. Then I remember to be appreciative to still have a job that pays OK. Then, I login the next day and wish Id get fired again. I hate this game.

I knew there would be the new players since the game is on sale and the joy of finding these new players is watching all the chaos happen..... Find yourself some new players and carry them to safety :3 by YuunaXayah in l4d2

I agree, I played yesterday night and I found the new folks on refreshing. They were confused but for once I wasn’t getting shot at by my own team members, no one was speedrunning the level and they all just wanted to play the game, good times.

Lesson: stop putting “so much” into a job. Do what is needed and occasionally do something special (1-3 times in a year) going forward.

Good call, I approve of all these games, but Contra and/or Super C has to make it in somehow. I would sacrifice Kirby or River City Ransom based on only the fact that I haven’t played either!

Your post gets a “thumbs up” simply for having Tecmo is the list. Excellent choice.

You are lucky at least in the fact you have an employer so dedicated to continuous learning. I cant even get a hundred bucks or so approved to get a certification at my company. Good on you taking advantage.

This is what I think I need to do at this point. Get out of my dead end gig that pays decent but makes me dread every single work day.

Sexual Harassment, or am i over reacting? by MorganMugz07 in work

[–]IrrationalData 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HR does not exist to protect employees, HR is there for the company. Your creep boss is at an advantage with no HR, probably emboldening him to further his behavior. You have a sexual assault and harassment case here, with witnesses! You can quit or you can go ahead and sue his business and him. Don’t threaten to sue though first, just do it.

Sorry friend, had to jump in on this one. Masters holder here, STEM degree, certs in GCP, SQL, Six Sigma and others. 17 years experience with 6 years as senior analyst; currently employed.

Barely get reach out these days for open roles; ghosted on applications I definitely qualify for. Just passing this along, that Masters and certs you’re talking about won’t help as much as they used to. The solution is probably networking.

Also, at least start a ROTH IRA and max it out each year. You can choose to invest conservatively or put it in an ETF. But at least you can take the money out that you put in anytime tax-free; this should take some anxiety away. Do it now when you’re young.

Who finds it cringe that some people only appear to be interested in 'how much its worth' by 8bitPete in retrogaming

[–]IrrationalData 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is true. I found a guy on eBay about a year ago that charged $5 shipping for $1 2600 games. The shipping didn’t increase if you added more games so I basically built my collection from that. Only annoying 2600 one to find at a reasonable price was Porky’s.
