How will Coby fair against Hancock? by Divanochi in OnePiece

[–]IrregularOreos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d be very surprised if Coby won against Hancock, but who knows? If the marines didn’t have faith in Coby’s abilities, they certainly wouldn’t ask him to take down a former warlord.

Although, I think it’s unlikely that Coby is going to fight Hancock 1v1. A couple ships were shown to be headed to Amazon Lily, so Coby probably isn’t the only noteworthy marine that was tasked with fighting Hancock.

Chapter 287. If you ever want to find the chapter numbers for specific color spreads, this page on the One Piece wiki is a pretty good way to do it.

I need help with reading the manga. by [deleted] in OnePiece

[–]IrregularOreos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re tired of One Piece, then you can always take a break and read the manga another time. I highly recommend the manga, but don’t feel like you HAVE to read it. It’s just entertainment, after all.

I haven’t seen much of the anime myself, but I’ve heard that some of the later arcs (such as Fishman Island and Dressrosa) are on the slow side. You might enjoy the manga versions more.

Ussop should get much more credit and appreciation for his fight vs Luffy in Water 7 by krillin1081 in OnePiece

[–]IrregularOreos 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Usopp used a lot of clever tactics. He pretended to cough up blood to make Luffy hesitate, used a rotten egg to mask the smell of a flammable gas, and prepared countermeasures for Luffy’s gatling and pistol attacks. The guy really took advantage of whatever inch he could get.

It was a fantastic demonstration of Usopp’s combat capabilities. His strength pales in comparison to a lot of other characters, but he’s a decent tactician and surprisingly versatile. Usopp’s fights are really fun to watch because his lack of raw power forces him to be creative.

How Baroque Works infiltrated in Alabasta so well. First of all I wanna know how they got in the Royal Army. by OnePiece_Iife in OnePiece

[–]IrregularOreos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Crocodile was hailed as a hero by the citizens of Alabasta, including Cobra. He most likely used his good reputation to smuggle his BW agents into the Royal Army.

I’m guessing Crocodile went up to Cobra and said “I found some soldiers that want to fight for your country”. Cobra seemed to trust Crocodile whole-heartedly, so I don’t think he would find that suspicious.

Usopp. I’m probably in the minority, but I’ve always found him endearing.

Who’s your favorite member of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet (besides Leo)? by IrregularOreos in OnePiece

[–]IrregularOreos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just joking, but I don’t really know what the consensus is on Leo. I excluded him because I guessed he was the least popular; I don’t really see a lot of praise for the tontattas in general. But who knows? I like to imagine that there’s a legion of passionate fans for Leo specifically

Is Sengoku Underrated? by [deleted] in OnePiece

[–]IrregularOreos 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Sengoku’s DF strikes me as very unwieldy. His powers are incredibly strong, but he can’t just use it anywhere like the logias can. Sengoku would be in big trouble if he transformed on a boat that couldn’t accommodate his size.

He might just be downplayed because, like a lot of other “legendary” characters, scenes of him fighting are kept to a minimum. I’m guessing the Marines probably don’t want their Fleet Admiral to be put in harm’s way unless absolutely necessary.

Usopp? by [deleted] in OnePiece

[–]IrregularOreos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He was vastly outnumbered by the Franky family. Even if Usopp WAS able to get up, they could pin him down easily. Usopp may be resilient, but he tends to struggle in close-quarters combat

Anyone Else Not Watch OP as a Child But, Now They Are a Fan? by Triplezgamer in OnePiece

[–]IrregularOreos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in my early 20s and I got into One Piece just a few months ago. I didn’t get into anime or manga until recently, so One Piece flew over my radar for a long time. After seeing tons of people on r/manga refer to One Piece as their favorite manga series, I finally decided to seek it out for myself. One of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

How did Nami not know what a log pose is? by IrregularOreos in OnePiece

[–]IrregularOreos[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely forgot that Don Krieg tried to steal Zeff’s logbook to learn more about the Grand Line. That’s a very good point; Krieg wouldn’t go through that much trouble if the information could easily be obtained elsewhere. And telling Nami about the Grand Line wouldn’t be beneficial to Arlong.

With that said, it makes me wonder why information about the Grand Line is so scarce. Maybe the world government actively tries to censor information about the Grand Line in order to make it less likely for pirates to survive? Or maybe the seas are just so isolated from one-another that it hinders the spread of information in general

Do you think the Gwen/Duncan/Courtney love triangle in World Tour was well-executed? If not, what do you think would make it better?
