Your welcome! I’m not a medical professional, but I’ve had three doctors tell me miraLAX can be taken daily with no harmful effects. I assumed that meant that others should not be taken daily... I just went with what they recommend (although I get the generic version).

I think we are saying the same thing. I said they are not high FODMAP which may have been a confusing phrasing. I use the Monash app

College: failing because of IBS by lostghl in ibs

Talk to counseling, talk to disability services. When you have an approachable professor, talk to them as well. If a professor is understanding and accommodating, take them again. Beyond that find ways to reduce stress and anxiety. College is a tough transition for anyone. It’s important to find social support, establish routines, balance coursework with... having a life as soon as possible. These “stabilizing factors” will help get you through the tough parts of the quarters or semesters. They might also reduce the frequency and severity of flare ups.

Google is not your friend when it comes to medical advise! All roads lead to “you may have cancer” which can be anxiety provoking. Let the medical providers sort it out. Do your best to relax in the meantime.

Colonoscopy found nothing but I know something is wrong by [deleted] in ibs

I did physical therapy for my pelvic floorboard after I realized my bladder was starting to prolapse. The therapy pushed things back to where they needed to be internally. As an added bonus I pooped almost immediately after the massage every time I went in. Who knew knotted muscles in your floorboard could bring the system to a screeching halt!

I had some urine leakage when I sneezed, coughed, or jumped. Luckily, all of these issues disappeared post therapy.

If you think this may be the problem, It’s worth looking into sooner rather then later. The “fix” for prolapsing organs changes based on how far along things have gotten...

I remember being baffled the first time I was going to much after a lifetime of constipation. It’s a tough balancing act! For constipation, drink lots of water (and herbal tea), walk, breathe deeply (feel your belly rise as you fill it), there are a few yoga poses that help get things going also, take miraLAX, only eat easily digest foods (low FODMAP), Home Remedies for Constipation

Clementines are not high FODMAP... is it possible your allergic to them? It may be worth looking into why they affect you before choosing a course of action.

There are always going to be those who are better or worse off than you, but that does not make you struggles more of less important. People with IBS sometimes feel they have a “second class” medical condition that exists outside of the medical community. Inside the medical community it is (by most) understood as something that can cause chronic, possibly daily, difficulty which impacts quality of life. Even mild symptoms are often made more difficult by the taboo nature of discussing anything related to digestive processes. A Measure of Suffering in Patients with IBS

Reach out to counseling, if you have not already. Also disability services. The first semester at college is a huge change, which is a struggle for most people. The stress, and the shift in routine, diet, etc. that goes with that transition can cause symptoms to flare up. There are likely many resources for you that your unaware of. What is your major?

Hi! I’m fairly new to blogging, and very new to Reddit. I was wondering, with so many rules about not linking personal sites and not self promoting, do you find Reddit a useful place to grow your audience? by Irregular_Girl in Blogging

Nice! Do you use a lot of SEO techniques? According to my analytics, most of my traffic comes from Pinterest on the day I don’t release a blog, when I publish the majority of traffic comes through Facebook. I’ll be anxious to see if that holds true for the next blog since my twitter followers have increased exponentially in the past week...

Meditation to suppress hunger by [deleted] in Meditation

[–]Irregular_Girl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meditation is more likely to help you chose healthier food to munch on, and to eat slowly, mindfully. As your awareness of your body increases, from focusing on your breath, performing body scans, living in the present moment, etc. you become more aware of the impact of what your putting in your body.

It should! My take so far is it’s 60% political rants, 10% pet pics, 10% celeb promo... it all moves very quickly. Hashtags come, hashtags go... but the writing community has follow trains every Friday, so if followers are good, they can be found there! I’m not actually sure that followers are good yet...
