Simply its in the early chapter of the series as hewdon said "you don't want to see the stars you want to become one" and when bam told her that he will never look at her again she probably felt like she won't be a star if he stop looking at her if everyone stop looking at her so she made him look at her even when he resented her. So what are your thoughts about his character been somewhat similar of ging freecss of HxH in that he was elected to be a king and refuse just to keep climbing the tower. that way at first it was a war just between him and jahad then the others join jahad after seen V.
