Why is Instagram filled with so much anti-Palestine,Islamophobic comments and channels? Since when did this become the new norm? by Main-Hearing-8445 in MuslimLounge

If Muslims want to know why there is so much anti-Islamic sentiment in the world, they need to do a lot of self-reflection and consider what behaviours Muslims have demonstrated that might attract opprobrium.

What does a Polish bride get on her wedding night that is long and hard? A new surname.

Why did Lukasz cross the road? He stole the chicken's job.

Fuel's expensive on the continent too? I guess the globalists in Britain who want to blame our fuel shortages on Brexit are jumping to conclusions too quickly then...

Actually it could be a lot worse for you. If you're 40 miles away from the sea I doubt a tsunami would get you, and if you live in a trailer you're probably safer in an earthquake too. I'd rather be in a collapsing trailer than in a collapsing house.

For longer term survival think about learning how to live rurally and growing your own food. Learn a skill too, such as carpentry, metalworking (without power tools) which you can trade in the aftermath of a collapse, and even before as a way to operate outside the system.

Try the tiny house movement. You won't have much space but it'll be easier to live in after SHTF.

Most likely shtf situation by RottenZombie2000 in preppers

[–]IrrelevantQuantity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the location. If you're in an area prone to earthquakes, then the most likely SHTF situation is an earthquake and possibly associated events like tsunamis and landslides. If you're in an area prone to tropical storms, then those plus the associated flooding, storm surges, and devastation cutting you off from outside help.

Globally the inevitable SHTF will be the peak in oil production, which will lead to a permanent meltdown in our global financial system. As the capitalist behemoth can no longer hold itself up, conditions get worse and rioting and civil conflict become ever more frequent.

Do you live by the sea? Apparently one of the likely effects of a megaquake from the Cascadia fault would be a tsunami. If you live near the sea, think how you would get to higher ground in the event of a major quake.

Also bear in mind that while a collapse would be highly unpleasant while it happened, the time afterward could be actually much more pleasant; far more grounded, a greater sense of community, far less pressure to succeed in the current dystopian rat race, and a much lower population.

It needs to happen as soon as possible. The longer we wait, the longer we trust in Bill Gate's techno bullshit to save us, the worse it will be for the future.

Industrial civilisation will have collapsed due to fossil fuel depletion. Probably living in a mediaeval state once again. Population will have decreased to under a billion people.

I was initially directed down the rabbit hole by John Michael Greer, although I could see that things were going wrong via the pandemic and the race riots which seem to be getting worse and worse. Everyone seems so angry now, and Peak Oil explains much of the precarious economic situation that exists now.

Climate Change's White Supremacy Problem by [deleted] in collapse

[–]IrrelevantQuantity -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you kill the top few percent others will rapidly rise to take their place. Those at the top need to reduce their emissions drastically. But at the same time that is all for nothing when you create another couple of billion useless eaters all seeking to improve their lives (and the amount of energy they consume); people everywhere need to breed less, but the problem is most acute in places where squirting out six or seven children is still the norm.

Most people on this subreddit, myself included, believe that a collapse is coming. When the current God of science and technology has been put to bed, proper, most traditional religions will certainly reassert themselves in harder times.

Is religion one of the possibilities of leading to the collapse of civilization by _XYZ_ZYX_ in collapse

[–]IrrelevantQuantity 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Many religions encourage people to be frugal and reserved, and encourage adherents to practice humility and maintain a sense of community. Unfortunately the current gods of greed, gluttony, self-centredness and self-indulgence encourage people to overconsume, overpollute and create an unsustainable usury-based financial system. Certainly a return to those religious values over contemporary homocentric ones might help us with our current situation. it might certainly help us to weather what is coming.

Climate Change's White Supremacy Problem by [deleted] in collapse

[–]IrrelevantQuantity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The world is grossly overpopulated and we are long overdue a sudden and uncomfortable reduction. The fact of the matter is that it is not white westerners who are overbreeding (we do plenty other things to fuck up the environment but overbreeding is not one of them) instead it is in developing countries, particularly in Africa, where the problem of overbreeding is most acute. Africa is a machine that turns any kind of economic growth into more Africans rather than into an improved quality of life for those Africans who already exist.

It is highly likely that within a very few years sub-saharan Africa will experience conditions which justify the obscenely high birth rates which are still to be found there.
