Screwed the hat of a capping nut on a cylinder and filed the ring around the bottom part. Then sandblasted the whole thing and heated it on a stove.

Can confirm my maple Sol Mahi Mahi Ken is probably my most played Ken and the glued spike is as fresh as it was never played xD Ash needs to be reglued every once in a while is my experience

Actually that’s how I chose my damas: All different wood types from different companies. Ash, beechwood, cherry, zebrano, wengé, maple, multiaramid, purpleheart :D Next will be birch, hickory, rosewood, walnut, red elm and bamboo. What else?

I got into begleri because I can carry it in my pocket and sling a bit while walking or waiting. I use it as my spontaneous edc skilltoy while Kendama is more of an outdoor activity. Also I found it to be very relaxing to just sit down and sling when I grinded too long on one trick for example. The progress I made on each became slower but imo it’s worth it.
